The year is 4098. Aliens have discovered earth and are informing humans about their species. Alien: we have dedicated our pursuits to bettering our society with science. We have genetically modified our species so that we are immune to almost all diseases. We have advanced beyond money and instead we trade using usefull items and acts of kindness. Alien: what are the humans like? Me: umm... Humans stare at pixelated blocks of light when they don't have to do a job that they hate. They believe that changing some pixels on a social application will cure world hunger. We fight each other because of differences in what we believe instead of living in harmony. The lucky ones who don't have to deal with hunger, poverty, or war live their lives ignoring the real issues and being mildly offended by something they saw on their communication network. I want to address something I don't think a lot of people realize. If there is someone on social media who does not get a lot of likes/ followers, getting a like/ new follower literally makes their entire day. When I get a like/ new follower I literally think about it all day and it makes me so happy. We live in a day and age where we have the power to make someone's day with one click. Why would you not?
