it only took a stable but mediocre & maybe a little soulsucking job , several years of therapy ,& the worst breakup he’d experienced to realize maybe it was dumb of him to let go of someone who’d faithfully been by his side through thick & thin. maybe someone out there genuinely loved him & despite not trusting that alone , he could trust her.

& even though there were specks of anxiety left in his mind; ryou was more at peace with it now. living with alys had made everything more transparent , it felt weird & sometimes uncomfortable having her witness his vulnerable , weak moments but never wrong. & although his old coping mechanisms seemed awfully tempting at times , he’d remind himself about how alys deserved better & that he wanted to prove to her & himself that he wants & is capable of committing.

this time was different , he was willing to put in the effort to keep them together instead of giving up because of his insecurities that got the better of him. but after everything that’d happened , after all the time that’d passed; ryou just couldn’t get her out of his mind , she had a permanent place in his heart & he wanted to see her happy with him.

so when it dawned upon him that they did lack the official status of being married , a small part of him feared rejection if only for a split moment with his breath held only to sigh in relief at her reply. & even turning it into a competition. how the hell he managed to find someone like alys was beyond him. ryou would never in a thousand years expect to meet someone that made him feel excited about the future & yet. there she was , right in front of him doing exactly that without even trying.

fingers give her hand a light squeeze as he pecks her lips with a smirk of his own. “ i hope you’re prepared to lose then because i’m already planning starting this second. “

indefinite hiatus

dumb things ryou’s done while living alone & proof he Needs help: - once used chopsticks to eat spaghetti bcus he didn’t have clean forks & were too lazy to wash any - uses chopsticks for almost everything bcus it doesn’t scrape the pan / pot - bought a Giant ass body pillow sized plushie. why ? Just Because. - swatted a spider on the wall with an empty carton of milk & screamed in terror when it fell down in his sink , had to ask one of his friends to remove it & hid in the bathroom meanwhile bcus he was afraid it’d come back to life - bringing pepsi along once in a while despite having a no pets policy - binged series a whole weekend until the moment he had to go to classes - drank soju out of a wineglass - sometimes just drinks out of a wineglass bcus that’s his life now
