Both of them were manipulated and tricked into doing irreversible things which they didn’t realize had terrible consequences until it was too late.

Stanford was tricked by a triangular godlike demon into building a portal that almost ended his dimension as he knew it; and the Collector was manipulated by a journal keeping human witch hunter into essentially into destroying the boiling isles by convincing him it’s a game in exchange for the Collector’s freedom.

But a big difference between those two situations (aside from the role reversal) is that while Philip Wittebane/Belos couldn’t give two damns about the Collector, Bill Cipher genuinely cared about Stanford.

Like sure it’s toxic yaoi at its finest but man was he desperately trying convince Ford to join him; promising to give him everything and make him a god if he’d agree to join him. While Philip literally threw the Collector away as soon as he was done with him. (Which lets be fr here considering what the boy did after he was released I don’t necessarily blame him for making that decision)

It will take time, and it will be very different going forward. This incident has changed the way I (Ido) run my servers as a whole. And has also led to me making changes to them. One of them is especially dear to me, the thought of losing it like WHAcord is the very thing that has me write this rant at 4am I simply can't sleep alongside my 3h yesterday haha.... Just like WHAcord it is a server I have cared for, for many years. Even longer than WHAcord.

Either way my personal feelings aside. We won't give up, instead we're changing our course and approach. Currently, the team is setting up roles, channels, emotes. Slow repopulation of channels.

After that we'll enter a period of bot changes. No rushing this time—do it clean do it right. Once it is all set we'll start slow; join by application. Once a week or two has passed reopen completely.

From there get back to regular business.

We may have lost some place special, but with how quickly the community reacted and the out cry of support I want to keep going. I'm not here to fight for numbers and what not, I just want to chase that magic of talking about the series I love again. I'm sure you guys understand.

Which is why I want to clarify some things. Please stop harassing the reddit staff, they have nothing to do with this, please stop hurling insults at people like frazzle and other high profile server owners. None of them have done a single thing to cause this situation so just stop. Please stop this unnecessary drama when we don't need it especially not now. I understand emotions and tensions are running high, but this is not the way to go. Right now other anicord owners are supporting us more than I could have ever imagined, and I'm grateful for it.

Even if we won't be as big, even if things change a lot does it really matter? Do those internet funny points really matter? To me, they don't, so let's focus on the future and on what we will do then. I would say some cool line as a closure note, instead I'll just quote Final Fantasy;
