a collection of bits and pieces of scenes that don't make sense on their own but come together somehow
new dsmp reset idea: people can remember certain emotions/feelings from Before but not the context behind said emotions and feelings, so they end up filling in those gaps with weird incorrect information to make sense of it all
ie: Dream remembers being hungry for a long stretch of time, so he assumes there must've been a famine in the Before
or: Sapnap remembers being alone a lot of the time, but also George being there asleep too, so he assumes that maybe he and George got sick and had to be quarantined for a while to keep from getting everyone else sick
or: Sam remembers being extremely possessive of Dream and assumes Dream was either kidnapped or maybe murdered and Sam's possessiveness was a trauma response to his friend almost dying
or: Bad remembers having a fight with Skeppy and then feeling like there was something else controlling/influencing him, so he assumes maybe his fight with Skeppy somehow triggered an episode of psychosis
or: Ponk remembers Sam doing something that made their arm really really hurt and assumes that maybe they got hurt or sick and Sam had to amputate their arm to save their life.
or: George remembers sleeping a lot and didn't have an explanation for that but when Sapnap explains he thinks they both got sick, George agrees that's a plausible explanation.
(T_T) they're all assigning the most positive intentions to the cruelest actions because none of them are at the point where they're capable of doing that
And also!!! All of them are friends!! And they love and look out for each other. Sapnap remembers being alone, but knows that surely he eventually got better and got to go home :) and Dream remembers being hungry, but that was probably because he was sharing his food with his friends during the famine so they weren't as hungry :3 Sam remembers being possessive of Dream, but surely that's because someone tried to hurt Dream really bad and he wanted to keep his friend safe from that >:) Bad remembers being in a state of altered consciousness, but surely he was just in an episode until his friends could find him some medications to help with that :3 Ponk assumes Sam amputating their arm was because otherwise they could've died from infection and their friend was doing something necessary to save their life :) and George assumes he was just asleep a lot because he was sick and he's glad his friends took care of him :)
they never consider that maybe, in The Before, they weren't all friends anymore
