Shamrock part of a royal family of a prestigious war mongering kingdom, that has incured more debt then they can handle, trying to balance everything his father and brother do not consider but he is at his wits end. Always keeping the needs of the family before his own
Shanks always glad to be out of the castle is out in one battle or another, or at the pub with friends that are 'below' his station as Garling always mentions, but still allows Shanks to do as he pleases. Shanks spending more time among the common people, helping them as its all he can do. Garling amd Shamrock have no qualms about starving the people in favor of the war effort
It all comes to a tipping point when the 'empire' turns its eye on their kingdom. Garling is alot of things but he isnt a fool, he wont go into battle that he knows is a lost cause. Situations such as that are usually solved by placating a larger power through marriage, but he has no daughters, and knows very little about who rules the country.
He is at a disadvantage but Garling does have bargaining chips in the form of his sons, to avoid being wiped of the map.
He offers Shanks, his useless youngest child, only to be refused due to the rumours that surround Shanks. They have no need for the 'shame' of the Figarland family.
Shamrock has no choice but to go. His father barely says two words, before barely giving Shamrock time to pack his bags, be thrown into a carriage to be delivered to an enemy kingdom as a hostage. For once in his life he is out of his depth, and hurt at being tossed aside, even if a part of him accepts it as a natural progression. Garling despite Shanks faults, favored him over Shamrock, atleast that is how he sees it.
Shamrock going with the assumption he will be helping with mundane work, like accounting but Imu has other plans and makes him the Prince Consort, with very limitied power as an advisor, and more a part of their 'harem'.
Shamrock being expected to pbey but also do nothing. Man who has never known a day of leisure is now an emperors pampered pet and knows not what do with himself xd
Shanks back home climbing the walls meanwhile thinking he has to save his brother and balsncing the pro's and cons of starting a war that will get them wiped of the map. Imu finds his antics amusing in trying to infiltrate their empire and sometimes steps out of their castle to toy with the younger brother as much as the older heh
