I genuinely don't know what to say about this update because I've already said it but I will say it over and over again. I've been following showbiz for months and I knew that when Alice, Bendy and Boris were introduced, it was going to be so good. But oh my god was this so much better than I ever could've imagined, so let me break this down into a list.
1. THE ART AND THE ANIMATION. Biposi the way you drew everyone... oh my god I love it so much. You put so much life into everyone's design and they all feel so alive. And @greenvials YOU DID SUCH AN AMAZING JOB ANIMATING EVERYTHING!! It all looks amazing ugh it was such a delight seeing everyone move.
2. The small bit of voice acting at the end surprised me so much but in a good way!! I loved the emotion V put into it and it fit Bendy so much. All credits to V!!!
3. I want to acknowledge the character work in this chapter, specifically for Alice (which I already talked a lot abt her but yknow): The small interaction that happened between Alice and Bendy. I find it very interesting that ALICE was the person king dice/the devil contacted when they needed someone to get cup trio. Maybe she's the 'leader' of the batim trio in this au? But it seems like she might be super insecure about her position in the trio - maybe she's used to bendy getting the 'spotlight' when they perform together? Or maybe she doesn't trust him with that type of responsibility because he's 'messed up' a performance or completely taken over a performance before? maybe she wants to prove herself to king dice/the devil and she's letting her insecurities take over. she's afriad of being forgotten... she likes being famous... and without that love/attention from the spotlight, her insecurities take over.
BUT THEN SHE GETS IN FRONT OF THE STAGE WITH BENDY AND ALL OF HER INSECURITIES MELT AWAY. She acts like nothing is happening behind the curtains because she loves the spotlight AND she has a job to do! You can see by the way she interacts with Mugman that she's already trying to 'butter' both the cup twins up so they fall into a false sense of security - it seems to be working on Mugs, but not on Cuphead (due to his 'interaction' with Bendy). I wonder if this is why Mugman is so outwardly distrusting of Saltbaker; it seems like he trusts people IMMEDIATELY and then gets extremely mad at himself if they betray him because he didn't see it coming.
Anyways, this update was amazing!!! I loved it so much and I cannot WAIT to see how this comic continues.
This compared with the "ads" and the LITERAL AI BUTTON ON MY COMPUTER KEYBOARD makes me dislike windows computers even more and ive only had my laptop for a month or two đ
Simonâs characterization and the fandom biases towards it
So, I love bloodymary and absolutely adore the fanfictions, however, some of Simon's characterization is⌠lacking, and exaggerated, and sometimes downright wrong.
Sometimes i see him depicted as being so clueless about everything and people justify it by saying its because of the Quiet Rapture, just so Grace can teach/explain things to him.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they just haven't seen Iron Lung yet.
BUT, fanfiction is fanfiction and we are all free to write whatever we want.
I just feel like he is such an interesting character and has so much potential, and sometimes he is unfortunately reduced to Grace's pet project to fix.
If you are like me and would like to keep this character as close to canon as possible, I am gonna share my own notes about Simon that I am using for my own fanfic. Notes that I took while watching iron lung, containing some of the lines and how he behaves.
It's messy af keep that in mind, sorry.

Simon is a smart motherfucker, navigating with the sm-13, he is nervous but reactive under pressure, and able to adapt when needed.
Curses only when frustrated and stressed, not all the time
âStupit piece of shit you just had to chug the whole thing?â At himself
âFuck thatâ at the eel.
He cares about others. Cares for the things around him, pats the chair and wolds everything carefully, knows how precious things are.
âI didn't mean for that to happen, I was just scaredâ After harming people with the radiation. âHow bad was it?â
âTHAT-that wasn't supposed to happenâ filament station.
Has lost hope for humanity (not really), but has hope to live. He seeks comfort and talks about what he is feeling. Has abandonment issues.
âcan you just, keep talking to me?â
âI just want to live, is that so wrong?â
âI thought i died, i might have died...â
âI really don't want to be down here anymore pleaseâ
Despite not believing in Eden he cared about his brothers. (Again, abandonment issues)
Wanted to be part of the coi, not because he believed in it ,but because it's the option where he lives. Didn't choose Eden, didn't choose the coi.
Doesn't actually believe in the quiet rapture, thinks that the space stations were taken somewhere else, not that the stars disappeared.
âIt doesnât matterâ repeats a lot.
âI traded one fancy metal box of dying for another!â
He is reasonable, explains things and asks questions, but aggressive when scared and threatened. Gets frustrated when things are kept from him.
âSure, just give me a secondâ

âWhat is the POINT OF ALL OF THIS?â
âAnd then I am free?â âAnd then we bring you back upâ

âAlrightyâ (absolutely loved him saying that)
Tries something, tilts head to the side âyeah that worksâ

Iron Lung AU where the submarine Simon is sent down with is actually a transformer.
The Autobot/Decepticon war was practically useless after Cybertron (and Earth) went with the Quiet Rapture, but some Decepticons still fought til the bitter end. SM-13 (not their real name, but a designation given to them by the Autobots/COI) was a Decepticon scout captured after the Autobots took over the Nemesis, one of the only ships left after the Quiet Rapture. They're a victim of Mnemosurgery, and can't talk as their voice box was destroyed during the procedure. When exploration of planet AT-5 began (and the SM-8, an Autobot submarine, was lost), the Autobots, led by Elita Prime, gave the COI three different Decepticon prisoners (I remember there was something in the game Terminal that said there were 3 'burner subs' after SM-8 soo) to use in this expedition - SM-13 was unlucky enough to be one of them. The humans mutilated their frame in order to make them 'acceptable' for the mission - they can still transform, but they can't recognize their body. Not anymore.
And, as Simon and SM-13 travel through the blood ocean, something changes within them. Simon understands binary code now. SM-13's spark now has a heartbeat. Their bodies change. They start to hear each other's thoughts, they see each other's memories. I becomes we, you becomes us. They become one.
At the end, the two of them die and become one with the soil, turning into a tree.
