forgive me great sage, for I have fucked up

I saw The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey listed on a tumblr post and I’m so glad I chose it! it was a wonderful sci fi and horror amalgation that blended the best of both genres. there was really evocative horror imagery and the foreshadowing was great, and I thought that the main antagonist was amazingly constructed. he was absolutely repellent and it was something that to me at the same time was so realistic in terms of male entitlement and misogyny and how the technology (cloning) included in the book could be weaponized by insecure and nasty men to fulfill their own misogynistic and objectifying goals. great social commentary, I absolutely loved all the characters, the relationship between the mc and her clone was wonderful, and the happy ending was awesome because it maintained everyone’s characterizations very well. 100/10 highly recommend. I’m working my way through the rest of the author’s works now and Spread Me was even more phenomenal and weird
