wonderful question because I think this is actually one area in which they don’t fully align. I think Annie is a switch, but her kinks are ones that are serious hard lines for Finnick and so they don’t explore those together. there’s some stuff they line up about but more areas in which they diverge.

I think Annie is very, very into degradation and objectification (something I explore a little with the s’s, between her and Johanna). I was trying to write a human furniture fic for her for kinktober but it needs to be workshopped more because I think Finnick has less than zero interest in that and she’d know that and wouldn’t ask it of him. I think she’s also a sadist, and Finnick’s relationship with pain sexually is really complex and not something he usually enjoys, so that’s also something they don’t tend to explore.

Finnick is a little more complicated. I think he knows what he likes and dislikes (common misconception that he wouldn’t, and I disagree with that. it’s completely reasonable that he could know that) but the difference between him and Annie is that she’s had a fair amount of sexual relationships that have by and large been safe places for her to experiment and learn more about her preferences, and that’s just not something Finnick’s fully had before her. I think something Finnick likes that Annie’s just not super into is wax and temperature play in general. Annie has a lot of anxiety around waxplay because she thinks with her dissociation it’d be too easy for her to slip and/or get too focused on him and burn the house down.

some things they both align with and both enjoy are choking each other. they have a lot of experience and knowledge about how to do this as safely as possible. I think they’re both into shibari, and it can semi scratch Annie’s objectification itch so that works well. super into threesomes and cucking, but we already knew that from my writing. also think they’re both very into pregnancy kink, lol, it’s my way of explaining away that whole situation.
