Reblogging for future reference.
Happy Preptober!
It's that time of year again and I am proud to announce my NaNo project for this year.
I've had this mini idea for a novella and so I am going to work on that. And if it doesn't reach the lofty 50k goal my plan is to work on other short stories from the universe that is Mechanical Enlightenment. I've been jotting down ideas for myths, fairytales, religious stories, etc. and may pick and choose what sounds fun to do at the time.
Here's the synopsis for the Scorpion:
Centuries before the events of Absolute two men changed history and started a new branch of religion. The temples create and house statues, celebrate them in holidays, and revere them as holy men of the gods. But maybe they were simply two men at the right place and the right time?
Avdiel, a retired warrior og the empire, is promoted to instructing the next soldiers. His promotion in status comes with a servant who goes by the name of Bartholomew, a foreigner who has lived most of his life in this city going between different masters. When Bartholomew discovers something dangerous that threatens the rulers of the city and the empire Avdeil must choose a side and return to the fight he was deemed to old for.
I'm going to be posting planning stuff starting next week. This weekend is New York Comic Con and so will be a little too busy until I get back.
Anyone else doing NaNo this year or anyone heading to NYCC?
WELCOME TO YOUR FIRST DAY OF NANOPLANMO
Ready? Get set!Â
LETâS GO!!!
Posts coming up soonâbe on the lookout!
Supplies for NaNoPlanMo Challenges!
Hey everyone!
mCubed35 here with a quick note on some supplies you might need for our NaNoPlanMo challenges (donât worryâyou probably have most of this already!)
Our weekly themes for NaNoPlanMo look like this:
Week One: Mental Prep Week Two: Inspiration Week Three: Learning Week Four: Immersion Days 29-31: Outlining/Wrap Up
So what will you need?
A Calendar
Youâll need this for Mental Prep week for your schedule. Either a digital calendar app or a physical one will work!
Your Preferred Writing Software/Notebooks/Pens/Pencils/Highlighters etc.
Whatever tools you need for scene writing/character outlines etc. need to be on hand!
A Task Manager App (OPTIONAL)
This can make life infinitely easier when trying to plan your writing around all the other things in your life you have going on. I personally LOVE Todoist (itâs âfreemiumâ and the âpremiumâ version is much cheaper than other software) but thereâs a number of other apps you can use. Trello is also a completely free option here, it just takes a bit more effort to set it up appropriately.
A Planner (OPTIONAL)
For people who prefer paper and pencil this is a great alternative to a task manager app. You donât necessarily need one if youâre using a digital app, but some people (like me) prefer to have both on hand.Â
A Nonfiction Book on Writing Craft (OPTIONAL)
This is part of an âextraâ challenge to read a nonfiction book on writing in one month.Â
Your Favorite Book that Covers One of Your âWriting Weaknessesâ (OPTIONAL)
See this post for more information! This challenge will come up during Learning Week!
And finally, before Immersion Week, review THIS POST on the Writeblr Connects November Wordcrawl!
Yes, I know it says âWC members,â but all of this information will still applyâyouâll simply have the option to submit NaNo project specific stuff during Immersion week!
Thatâs it for now! Everyone get ready for NaNoPlanMo! Itâs going to be a blast!
Writeblr Intro Post
Hello fellow writeblrs,
I never made a formal intro post, because I always wanted to wait until I find the time to have a nice WIP page. But, letâs be honest, thatâll still take some time. So here we go.
You can call me Sari, Iâm just out of my twenties, German and go with she/her. I try to juggle writing, a healthy relationship with my s/o and working full-time, which is not always easy but still mostly fulfilling.
Iâm looking for the exchange with other writeblrs (everyone I talked to yet was wonderful and welcoming and great!) about our OCs, WIPs and challenges. As for myself, I write fantasy (on the lower fantasy side) with quite some action and (hopefully) complex, morally grey characters.
Currently, I have two WIPs, which will be the essence of what Iâm posting about:
BLACKBORN (adult fantasy): In a city vaguely reminiscent of a 1900s Constantinople, a former burglar is blackmailed into a plot against the empress and needs to face her criminal past, a deceiving ex-boyfriend and the murderous Imperial White Guard. [intro post] [main character/drabble] [chapter one]
Featuring a buzzing bazaar, thefts, a train heist, unusal friendships, friends-to-lovers, found family, superpowers, wild chases, daggers, spies, conspiracies and spices.
Unnamed Western Fantasy WIP (NaNo2018 project): An idealistic engineer, an arrogant sorcerer with a death sentence, a strong-willed interpreter and a young shotgun messenger are confronted with an ancient, magical being that they accidentally woke up. [The engineer][The sorcerer][Backstory drabble Iâm quite proud of]
Featuring pet dragons, evil dragons, tough decisions, snow storms, abandoned silver mines, hostile magic, trains, self-fulfilling prophecies, a girl with a shotgun, angry princes and stagecoaches.
Additionally, Iâm hosting the OC Backstory weeks, check it out here [x] if youâre interested in some weekly prompts on character development or to read some drabbles of other writeblrs.
Looking forward to getting to know more of you! And thanks for reading, liking or reblogging! Let me know if you want to be tagged!
These sound awesome! Guys, be sure to check this personâs stuff out!

Writing tip of the day:
Write a shitty first draft. At least youâll have something.
At one of my last cons I found the sticker of my dreams and couldn't wait to stick it to the back of my car. Then I posted it to instagram with the following caption:
"I made my car sexy!"
Pretty sure all my friends think I believe my kinda old blue PT cruiser is sexy. But I swear I thought it was funny because it's a Doctor Who reference!
I am an awkward person...

The WWC is all about supporting other writeblrs. WWC members suggest and select writeblrs to be featured (this includes members and non-members) every two weeks. One week just isnât long enough sometimes.Â
There is no minimum requirement for participation, but I do hope that you will all remember just how much it means for writers to receive reblogs, comments, and compliments. Every voice makes a difference.
With that in mind, WWC is intended to be strictly positivity-based. If you want to offer unsolicited critique or criticism, this group isnât for you.
Come join the Writeblr WIP Club if you âŚ
want to support other writeblrs
want to find awesome new content
want to join a positivity-based community
want to make some new pals

Reblogs would be nice, so I can hopefully get more responses to this, but even comments and likes are great! Iâm simply hoping to find some interesting people and maybe make a couple friends along the way.
