if you look at the previous Life Series winners, you quickly realize that bigger alliances actually don't help players win. looking at the Life Series Winner's Circle and their alliances, you've got:

-Pearl and Scar, who were solo players during their winning seasons

-Grian, Joel, and Martyn, who were all in duos during their winning seasons (Desert Duo, The Family, Mean Gills, and the Lost Generation)

-and Scott, who is the only winner to have more than 1 close ally during his winning season (that being the 3 Gs), and even then, Cleo only joined them halfway through (so you could argue that Scott's main alliance was just the Scottage duo)

and I think there's a few reasons for this. a bigger team means more people to make enemies of other alliances, putting a target on your entire team's back. there's also more people to defend, or even sacrifice yourself for, leading to a quicker loss of lives. larger teams also just appear to be a bigger threat, and there's more people to keep track of, complicating things.

so what's the lesson here? if someone wanted to win the Life Series, they should get themselves a trustworthy partner and stay in a duo. or don't. it's always fun to break the trend, after all :)))
