I also limit my colour palette as much as I can, so instead of making a new colour I need I steal it from elsewhere on the canvas idfk. I restrict it less these days though, my earlier drawings you'll see every colour is used in like 5 diff places
nowadays for shading sometimes I paint low opacity with a saturated version of my darkest colour over the colour to be shaded and colourpick that.
