I understand why some people think Kara killing Krem at the end invalidated what she spent the whole movie telling Ruthyeβbut hear me out
Krem didn't deserve to live. He was a pedophile, a murderer, and a sex trafficker
Kara Zor-El knew that he shouldn't be allowed to live bc he'd just keep doing what he was doing
But does her murdering him in place of Ruthye invalidate her teaching Ruthye "murder is wrong"?
Well, no bc i dont rlly think the message was "murder is wrong"
It was "dont let your grief and rage consume you"
If Ruthye had murdered Krem in her grief and anger it would've consumed her. Kara didnt want her to live with that. She sacrificed a part of herself to kill Krem, so Ruthye wouldn't have to be the one who did it
Yes, Krem was a piece of shit who deserved to die
But that doesn't mean the 13 yr old girl whose entirely family was murdered should've been the one to kill him. Lets not put that on her to do. She shouldn't have to. Kara knew that, its why she did it instead
theres a big conspiracy theory going round that you can be horribly flawed and also genuinely loved. crazy if true
if Iβm blushing and smiling and being all giddy, itβs because Iβm thinking about my fav ship and my comfort characters
My absolute beauty of a preorder came in the other day and iβm obsessed with the art.

Summary
Luc OβDonnell is an unwillingly chaotic man who works for an obscure non-profit and in need of some good publicity for his professional and personal life. Cue the respectable boyfriend that heβs desperately in need of but canβt seem to find.
Oliver Blackwood is a stuffy barrister with a saviour complex a mile wide in need of a date to a family function so that his family will finally leave him alone about his love life. Cue the adoring boyfriend that heβs been looking for but canβt seem to hold on to.
Through some meddling mutual friend matchmaking, Luc and Oliver come to the conclusion that maybe they can help each other get through a few annoying social obligations by pretending to be each otherβs partners. A little forced proximity to get to know each other and make it believable turns into βmaybe this could actually workβ and inconvenient feelings. They were doomed from the start really.

Book 3 really came through!

Luc and Oliver make me a mushy mess. They are so opposites attract in the best way. This book really highlights how much they complement each other. Their journey through fatherhood and co-parenting was so relatable. Itβs an inspiration of open and healthy communication with your partner and co-parenting.
Narrator Joe Jameson is the perfect for this and he brought the story even more to life

This book π this series π
I am so emotional. I absolutely loved the direction this book went. I donβt want to spoil anything for anyone but it was just perfect to me. I loved all the complications that arose, the unexpected role reversal, the things both Luc and Oliver had to face about themselves all these years later.
I loved Jaz a lot. She was such a wonderful addition to this universe. As was Spud.
I loved that every single side character got growth and page time and were a part of things while acknowledging that growing up and building separate lives means youβre not there for everything anymore.
So anyway yeah Iβm in a puddle of my feels and this is a barely coherent mess of a review.
A24 is making a TV series version of Alexis Hall book 'Boyfriend Material', which preceded 'Husband Material' and 'Father Material'.
Love the books. I can't wait to see who gets cast as Luc and Oliver. π
Also, book 3, Father Material, comes out 2 June so can't wait to read that.

MARY is all like omg go away D:}
and JOHN IS LIKE :D :D :D Sam! Hey Sam! Mary's father was a Sam. What a swell guy!
SAM smiles and nods.
///
Later
DEAN: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Mary's dad was, uh, pretty much like a grandpa to us.
JOHN: Oh. That was tragicβthat heart attack.
...
Ah, I see. The real problem is that AEDs were just not readily available back then. RIP Samuel.

Even later:
"Y'all made a fool of meeeeeee!"
John, no they didn't. Mary isn't even good at lying to you.
Thou hast made a fool of thyself.
A significant portion of this post is invisible to him.
they should make a frowny face with three hearts emoji for when you want to convey that even through a very bad mood or tough situation you still feel a wave of affection for the person you are texting
I love it. Infinite possibilities...

I do wish we could make it a little more socially acceptable to wander the streets at night weeping inconsolably I feel like that would have a great catharsis factor for a lot of people
i think that sometimes amidst the woobification, people forget that cas is an angel and extremely strong. also he would hurt a fly.
