Finally getting back into tumblr, still a fan of YouTubers and RWBY. Not to mention a bunch of other tv shows, anime, and book series! Tune in for my bullshit if youāre up for it! - RagingChica
Danny's found a way to dodge GIW trackers, as well as his parents.
Their equipment hunts ghosts, ghosts run on emotion; so as long as he keeps his under a tight lid and doesn't feel anything ever, they won't be able to track him.
It works!
He's able to run from them, and goes as far as New Jersey. The plan was to stow away on a ship, and go to literally any country that wasn't America. He goes to Gotham, which hosts the one harbor he knows where no one will ask any questions.
But because of how weird he acted (completely emotionless during a Joker attack), he was fingered by police immediately.
He's handed over to CPP. CPP doesn't know what to do with a teen literally so traumatized that they don't show any emotion at all, ever. He keeps just...walking out of his placements. Just leaves without a sound.
Luckily, he's always caught, due to those placement houses having quiet alarms and him refusing to run.
They call the one foster parent they know who does.
Bruce Wayne takes in the strange, nameless kid who refuses to talk.
On paper, they gave him the filler name of 'John Doe', for lack of anything better to do.
Bruce does everything he can to make the newest arrival feel at home. Damian, for as territorial as he is, actually breaks out of his shell sooner than expected just to try to get the new kid to speak. To emote. To do something. Duke tries the open approach, then tries the 'no one will ever know, everyone thinks I'm an innocent goody-two-shoes' approach. Nada.
Tim even tries to trick him into talking, but nothing works.
Enter Dick; Dick heard about Bruce's new ward, about the situation, and decided to see if he could get the kid to open up.
Danny though. Danny's in trouble.
The Wayne Manor is weirdly secure, and he can't just walk away like he did his other placements. He can't use ghost powers or the GIW and his parents will immediately know where he is.
He really, really wants to take Bruce up on his offer and just spend the day relaxing. Respond to Damian's attempts to provoke him. Overshare about space facts with Tim.
But most of all, he really, desperately wants to get in a Pun Competition with Dick. He wants to laugh at Dick's jokes, and learn coolass gymnastic tricks!
But he can't!
If he relaxes with Bruce, he'll be content, which is an emotion. If he argues with Damian, he'll get annoyed, which is an emotion. If he sneaks out with Duke and breaks the rules, he'll get happy, which, again, emotion. If he overshares with Tim, he'll get excited, which is, yet again, an emotion!
The worst sin of all, he can't even show proper appreciation of the food the Butler keeps making him!
And now there's even more people coming over!
There's a quiet girl who keeps reading his body language and trying to get him to dance ballet, a blonde girl who keeps trying to kidnap him to take him to BatBurger, a guy with a stripe of white who wants to take him to a shooting range, and it just...he really, really wants to!
Ooo djdjdj so you know what??? Whatcha do here plot wise? Give him an emotionally he can't control. Danny gets a nightmare, a bad one. He wakes up screaming and three of your siblings show up all at once and he cries so hard he can't breathe. He hyperventilates for a while as dick and cass on either side help soothe him. Eventually he starts to calm down before jolting, fresh tears start pouring, and Steph's like what's wrong?? John????
And Danny, voice wobbly and semi-hollow, just whispers "they're going to find me"
My brain kept circling back to this idea for the last few days so hereās the scene you inspired:
He didnāt just wake up screaming.
He woke up wailing.
Oh no. Nononono. Heās done it now.
Danny had blocked away everything too tight for too long and now itās exploded out of him in a destructive force.
You see, ghosts are made of emotion. Hopes, dreams, ambitions, obsessions, delights, fears. Everything that is still a person, once you take their body away. Thatās what a core is.
Except Danny was a ghost with a body. A body being possessed by its own ghost. Alive while dead, dying while living. A normal ghost could never have locked away their emotions - thatās all they were - but Danny was a Halfa. It was only because he had a body that he was able to seal up his core at all. To stop the flow of ghostly power radiating from his core that could be traced by the Guys in White and his parentsā machinery.
Heād sealed it up tight like a jar, to prevent any emotion from leaking out. Emotion was power. Emotion held a ghostās signature. It had been a desperate thing to do, but the only way to survive. If you could call cutting half of yourself off survival. It had been heartbreakingly painful.
Until it hadnāt.
Until the emotion stopped.
And he was able to simply walk away from his home, his friends, Jazz, everything. He didnāt care anymore about protecting Amity Park. He didnāt feel a thing as he left everyone and everything he knew behind. Emotionless.
Of course, maintaining the sealed jar of emotion wasnāt easy. If he didnāt keep a tight mental grip on the lid at all times it would burst open. And that only got harder the longer he stayed with the Waynes. As if all the emotions they flaunted could be felt by his trapped core and it wanted so desperately to echo them, magnify them, return them tenfold.
And then the nightmare hit.
Heād survived many during the last few months on the run. Clutched that jar tight in his mind as if it was an overheated vat of Nasty Burger sauce that would blow if he let go.
But it had been too long, and he was so tired.
Thereās only so long a muscle can strain until it cramps, and the brain is just another human body part. Fallible. Imperfect. Exhausted.
The nightmare itself hadnāt even been among his worst - honestly he was getting used to seeing the nightly horrors.
But it was finally too much and his mental grip slipped. The jar cracked. His core released all the pent up power that had been building and fermenting like yeast in a sourdough start. It boiled over.
He woke up wailing.
The sound cut off soon as he realized but it was too late. Too late.
Youāve seen videos of a dam opening its spillways to release excess water? No one would describe that as a flood or a waterfall. It was not a slow rise of water, or a steady fall.
The emotions that overtook Dannyās body were a violent force that destroyed everything in its path.
That path being his bedroom wall.
The whole thing was gone.
Blown off its supports and laying strewn all over the grounds of Wayne Manor in a hundred yard stretch.
Not that he noticed. Danny was heaving sobbing clawing at the carpet trying to regain control so he could find a new jar to lock this all away again.
It hurt.
Having emotions hurt.
And the pain felt beautiful.
How could he have locked these away? How could he have tried to prevent half of himself from existing? How could survival be worth self destruction? His core screamed and stretched and filled up his living body with everything heād bottled up. All the fear, grief, loss, anger, anxiety, spite, disgust, disappointment, misery. All the hope, excitement, comfort, peace, gratitude, amusement, joy.
They were his. He loved them all.
They werenāt safe.
He had lost track of time passing, and hadnāt noticed the people in his room. (What was left of his room.) Everything was disorienting and overwhelming.
Oh, the one coaching him to breathe was Dick. He liked that guy. Great puns. Gentle. Feircely protective. And Cass was rubbing his back in time with Dickās breathing exercise to give him a physical anchor to follow.
They both looked scared.
He didnāt blame them. He was dangerous. Heād destroyed their home. His loss of control was about to bring an army to their door.
Danny gasped, finally sucking in some air (oh, heād stopped breathing for a while, oops) which cleared his head enough that he could finally focus enough to hear Dickās frantic words.
āPlease breathe. Please just follow me kid. Come on, like this. You gotta breathe you gotta - yes!!ā he shouted when Danny finally gasped, looking relieved but still worried, āCome on, another.ā
Danny pulled in another lungful of air and both of his foster siblings also released a sigh, as if all the fear had only been for his body shutting down and not the destruction surrounding them. Cass nodded at him and gave a shaky smile as she reached a hand up to his face and wiped away his tears. When had he started crying? And when had the rest of the family entered? He was surrounded by people. People who only looked worried for him and not because of him.
Oh no. Nononono he was putting them in danger. They were good people. Kind people. They had taken him in and let him stay despite not returning any of the care they showed him. He had so desperately wanted to be part of this family; to dance with Cass, laugh with Dick, spar with Damian, and sit happily next to Bruce in silence as they read in the library. To sneak around with Duke and Steph, to go to the shooting range with Jason, and to get Tim back for all those pranks heād played when he was trying to get Danny to speak. They were all so vibrant and alive and full of emotion that he couldnāt let himself feel or share.
He couldnāt let them get hurt. He loved them.
He loved them enough to hurt himself.
Danny closed his eyes and took slower deeper breaths, following Dickās relieved guidance and Cassā gentle touch.
He reconstructed the jar in his mind and started shoving his emotions back inside. His body started to sink back into the stillness heād gotten used to over the last few months. He was so tired. His mind was sore and bruised but he would -
Smack!
āHey!ā Dannyās eyes flew open to glare at Cass, who had hit him hard on the back of his head. āI almost had it!ā
Several family members had yelled in surprise and tried to pull Cass away, but she evaded their hands and shoved a finger in Dannyās face.
āStop that,ā she said. āDonāt you dare.ā
Hearing her speak was rare, and Danny stared in confusion. (Oh shoot, he was feeling things again.) But his own confusion was nothing compared to everyone staring at him in shock and wonder.
Oh. Right. They hadnāt heard his voice before. Another personal safety rule broken. Too late to take it back. Like everything else tonight. Too late.
āI have to,ā his voice broke. His emotions were still too big. Was there any hope of containing them again? He shouldnāt even be feeling hope.
āWhy, John?ā Stephanie spoke gently but it got his attention. āCan you tell us whatās going on?ā
The care in her words was echoed on the faces surrounding him, and it destroyed any prospect of rebuilding his emotional prison. He couldnāt do it again. He wasnāt strong enough.
Danny accepted the tears that came again, letting them fall, each droplet a beloved emotion for each of his new family members that were all going to die because they cared.
āTheyāre going to find me,ā his word wobbled but he forced them out. āAnd they donāt care who theyāll hurt to get to me.ā

To think on May 7th, 2016, at 11:11 pm no less... And I sit here, August 10th, 2023, at 9:37 pm, a little over 7 years later & 5 years gone from tumblr, then see this in my timeline & I can say with 100% certainty that itās the truth ;)
I donāt understand how this is a correlation when one is about someone wanting to out people of a certain religion and another has been in law for a long time, but no one has done much action with it. People come here illegally. There is a way to citizenship (although that particular area of this should be fixed in a few ways so it can be faster and easier, but not by just coming into the country. If you have completely open borders, people will take advantage of it in the worst ways possible), and I hope one day all of us (no matter what sides you may be on about this) can understand that. Yes, people and families do deserve to come here. But not illegally, because that would trickle into very, very bad people coming to take advantage of it too. People arenāt always good, no matter where they come from or how they grow up, and someday maybe everyone will realize this.
Sorry for the long post, just wanted to get my thoughts out.
My new art tablet arrived yesterday (!!!), so I decided to break it in by spending 5-ish hours working on a gif of Toddler Virgil running to Patton. Itās incomplete and messy, but I wanted to at least post some of it for today.

Just wanted to address self esteem and epilepsy. (This can apply to other chronic illnesses as well)
Anyway, there are going to be days where you feel like absolutely shit. Iām not going to sugar coat it. I mean you probably already know this.
There will be seizure days; post seizure days; medicine side effect days; and honestly, days you donāt really even know why you feel like crap, nor can you really describe it, but you just do, and it really fucking sucks.
You will be tired. You will ache. Your head will undoubtedly be contorting itself. And to top it all off, this will very likely effect you emotionally.
I mean, how could it not? No one WANTS to feel like this. Itās disorienting, disabling, and āuncomfortableā and a vast understatement. So yeah, itās a little upsetting to say the least.
Cause youāre not lazy. If anything youāre the complete opposite. You work so fucking hard everyday to live the shit out of your life (cause letās be real here, if you didnāt love living life, you would not try so fucking hard everyday to keep up). You have you dreams, your goals, your aspirations. Hell, you probably have a lot more will power than your peers, but no one would ever know it, since youāve got SO many obstacles to tackle just to get out the door. Itās completely unfair.
And whatās worse, is if you live with someone, you feel like dead weight. Unless they really understand whatās going on with you (and really, how could they? Unless theyāre a spoonie themselves?) there are so many times where you feel like you have to justify your exhaustion. Or explain -for the 50th time- how the side effects of your pills cripple you at times-but the idea of starting the grail quest of finding the next set of medicines is what has kept you from finding anything better.
Epilepsy sucks. As we all know. Not only for its initial medical reasons, but for the sense of guilt, fear, anxiety, and depression that it can bring with it.
Well let me tell you something else. You, my friend, are amazing. I know youāre best kept secret - that youāre in fact the opposite of ālazyā and kick ass on a daily basis. (Which makes you basically like batman, cause he was a superhero that never took much credit? So congrats. Youāre batman, you bad ass, you.)
I know that you have a lot of things to take into consideration on those evenings you go out. Itās tough, it can be scary, but you nail it everytime.
I know that youāve looked fear and anxiety in the face and said āno thank you. Hmm maybe later? I gotta finish this thing right now. Yes, yes, I know Iām having auras, but we can freak out later, thank you,ā because you know that if auras scared you every time you had them, you could not finish school, or go to work, or have that date that you were looking forward to. And of course theyāre scary, but the fact that you donāt let them get to you every time makes you the personification of bravery.
And thereās one last thing that I know for sure. It is super easy to get embarrassed over having seizures and whatnot. Itās really easy to feel weak. (Hell, I let it get to me way more than I could admit), but thereās no reason to. Itās medical. It has nothing to do with your character. Your seizures, your pills, those forgotten words or that bit tongue - none of them make you YOU: they are all things that exist along WITH you, but they are not a part of you. And if anyone gives you shit for it, theyāre being an ableist prick. Youāre not an epileptic. Your a person. A person with dreams, potential, strengths, and weaknesses-one of which so happens to be a lowered seizure threshold. That is all.
I hope you all have a wonderful evening, and an amazing November. Letās make sure to spread the (self) love and knowledge this epilepsy awareness month. š
Sincerely,
Captain Fantastic Spastic
what you need to do if i have a convulsive seizure
I was just complaining to my friend that my oldest sister didnāt know what to do the last time I had a convulsive seizure, and I ended up injured because of it. And my friend said that actually, they donāt know what to do when they see someone have a convulsive seizure, either.
So I thought Iād explain it to you. Ā Iām not a doctor, and I have no medical training and not everything here will apply to everyone who has convulsive seizures, these are just the things that apply to me, and when in doubt, call an ambulance.Ā
Hereās what you do:
Look around. Am I lying in the middle of a busy street or on the railroad tracks, or somewhere else dangerous, like in the bathtub? If yes, drag me to somewhere where I am not in imminent danger of being hit by a truck or drowning.Ā
Am I somewhere safe, but lying near dangerous things like fire or knives or broken glass or pans of boiling water or anything that can hurt me? Move the dangerous things away from me.
My body will be convulsing. That means my head and my arms and my legs are rapidly hitting the ground. Put something soft underneath my head. If thereās a cushion right there, perfect. If not, wad up your coat or shove your shopping bag under my head. If thereās nothing immediately to hand that would take you more than a few seconds to grab, stick your feet underneath my head, itāll work.
Am I wearing anything around my neck, like a tight collar, or a necktie, or a choker? Loosen it, so my airway is clear.
Donāt restrict my movements - donāt try to hold my arms and legs down. Youāve already moved all the dangerous things away from me, and cushioned my head, so donāt hold me down, unless it is necessary to keep me from doing serious harm.
Donāt put anything in my mouth. A lot of people think you need to stick your fingers or a spoon or something into the personās mouth to prevent them choking on their tongue. Ā Donāt do this.Ā
Try to make a note of the time the seizure first started. If the seizure lasts for longer than five minutes, call an ambulance.
When the convulsing/jerking has stopped, roll me onto my side. If you know what the recovery position is, put me in the recovery position, if you donāt, just roll me onto my side, and check my airway.Ā If Iām not breathing, or Iām having trouble breathing, call an ambulance.
It seems to be instinctive to help someone get back to their feet as soon as the seizure is over. Donāt do this with me. After a seizure, Iām in something called a post-ictal state. It makes me very, very confused, and lying on the ground or sitting somewhere soft is the safest place for me. If you pull me to my feet while Iām still this confused, I will walk directly into traffic or put my hand on a hot stove because I wonāt know where I am, or whatās happening, and often I wonāt be able to see at all for a few minutes. Keep me somewhere safe until Iāve fully recovered.
If I have another seizure before Iāve fully recovered from the earlier one, call an ambulance.
If you think I might be hurt, or youāre confused or not sure about what to do, call an ambulance.
Thatās all there is to it. Make sure Iām not in immediate physical danger; cushion my head (but donāt restrain it); when the jerking stops, roll me onto my side and check my airway; keep me somewhere safe until Iām fully recovered, and if the seizure lasts a long time, or I have a second one, or you arenāt sure what to do or you think I might be hurt, call an ambulance. Thatās it. Itās not hard, and I promise you can do this.
This is some pretty valuable information on what you can do when someone is have an epileptic seizure. Also, if you canāt donate, spread the word that the charity livestream on Markās twitch is currently going on! You can either buy the Drunk Minecraft Steins on Markās website, send bits or spread the word! <3
I really needed this right now. Been crying a lot due to my epilepsy acting up and hating that people are usually unaware of 1) what epilepsy or a seizure is, 2) how to help if there is a seizure happening, and 3) raising awareness.
I canāt tell you how many times Iāve had to explain how my epilepsy affects me in all ways: physically (ofc Iām tired after one, my muscles tensing* and all), mentally (Iām always upset and disappointed after a seizure, since mine are able to be ātamedā a bit. Itās like a reset button to all the progress you made in a game, but so much worse), and psychology (I was going to see someone about how my epilepsy was affecting my mental state, but now I canāt due to reasons I wonāt share. Itās eating me up inside and making me prone to having more breakdowns about being stuck in this cycle of being okay, seizure, confidence shatters, picking up the pieces, then from the top again, rinse and repeat. Iāve tried talking with just my family or friends, but that shit doesnāt work).
I just wish more people knew about epilepsy since itās widespread and can be just as deadly as much as any other serious disease. People with epilepsy can seem like normal people on the smaller spectrum, while in the tougher spectrum is easier to see their epilepsy. Iām stuck in the goddamn middle. I seem normal. But thereās so much I canāt do. Itās frustrating and usually humiliating. But itās for my health. I canāt go against that.
*I have a case of partial-localized epilepsy where I tense up and lose consciousness, making my body fall like a brick to the ground. Itās usually āokayā by epilepsy standards, but theyāve happened once a year (and after every seizure, you canāt drive for 6 months. I had one in April 2017 and got to driving again after the 6 months, and in May 2018 I had another spurred on sensitivity to blood being drawn) recently and itās upsetting.
This is not a joke. I was at a premier showing tonight, and my immediate thought was how disasterously unsafe this movie is for my photosensitive epilepic friends. @markingatlightspeed Iām tagging you with this specifically because this would be extremely dangerous for you to watch.
There are multiple scenes in this movie with full-screen, black-and-white flashing strobe effects. They all happen without warning, and last anywhere between a few seconds to more than two minutes. In a darkened movie theater, this means the likelihood of a seizure could be VERY HIGH if you are sensitive to these effects.
If you have photosensitive epilepsy or another disorder that is triggered by strobe lights, I would highly recommend you DO NOT SEE THE INCREDIBLES 2 IN THEATERS.Ā Wait until the movieās released on digital/Bluray, and you can watch it in a fully-lit room, with someone with you who will be able to help if the strobe effects do trigger a seizure.
Please stay safe.

Here is a tiger just going about life until this human gives it the fright of its life. Still cute af. Dream job to be honest. 17/10 would be such an honor to pet

YES YOU TERRIBLE TIGER YOU ARE FINALLY LEARNING HOORAY :D
I canāt find two particular wattpad stories about zeroyalviking and itās quite upsetting, they were awesome to begin with and had a good plot line (that I butcher in the paragraph below). Now both are probably gone and IM JUST A SMIDGE MAD AND MORE UPSET since the author may have thought it wasnāt good! It is! Or just is done with writing, I have no clue. Canāt do much about it now. I stashed it with other stories that are actually good on wattpad (havenāt read all, so some of them may be bad but Iāll find that out when I read them). I hope maybe one day they post it up again. It was a fun ride to read. It wasnāt even a reader insert! 3-6 characters were made by her and it worked nicely.
It was about how this one girl was in college in an apartment with 2 other girls who are her best friends, and one of them (not the love interest) knew Zeās channel. Apparently in this story he started off taking a class or two in... Arizona? I donāt remember, but he and the love interest became fast friends in a class. But soon she and her roommates realized he was with another girl who was cheating on him, and he left? He invites the main girl (the love interest) over to hang out in another state, and it (of course) leads to more at one point. Then he cuts her off because of something that happened between them, then she becomes pregnant due to that āleading to something moreā point. He tries to reconnect after having a dream of their future child, playing with her (noticing her eye color as the main girlās) and then her being taken away. He gets on a plane to Arizona, realizing sheās pregnant after her friends try to keep him out while she was having morning sickness and they (love interest and Ze) get together. Thereās a second book too, going on with getting to know the derp crew and with their future kid. Main girl gets back into school with online classes too. Then it was in progress for the next chapter so I didnāt check it for a while. Annnnnnnd hereās what happened.

It happens every night
I watch my world ignite
But thereās no waking from this nightmare
The stage is always set
The place I canāt forget
The hidden eyes, how I can feel them
My eyes are open wide
Iām racing to her side
Thereās nothing that I wonāt do for her
But this is not a dream
My mind repeats the scene
I cant forget it and its torture
That was before
But not anymore
Iāve left it behind
As much as Iāve lost
It couldnāt set across my mind
Iāve found the strength to grow to so much more
A whisper to a roar
No more crying
Itās time for me to soar
I feel like Iām finally unbroken
Feel like Iām back from the depth
My strength and my courage is growing
Out of my way
Cause Iām armed and ready
I remember all too well
My sight of living hell
Tonight my enemy would conquer
But now Iāve been set free
Set through the tragedy
Youāll wish you killed me, but Iām stronger
I am the golden one
Whoāll rise just like the sun
Next time we meet itās your disaster
Iāll bring the punishment
This song will be lament
Revenge, my happy ever after
My misery
My agony
Has taught me to fly
The pain I went through
Left me with a new life
Iāll live my life like every dayāsĀ the last
No living in the past
This day is over
Iām never looking back
I feel like Iām finally unbroken
Feel like Iām back from the depth
My strength and my courage is growing
Out of my way
Cause Iām armed and ready
Call me āSweetheartā and Iāll tear you apart
Just callĀ me āSirā
Try to resist once you meet my new fist
Bye-bye
Just look at the fire in my eyes
And bring my āStrawberry Sunriseā
It was you who began this
Now your saying āGod damnit!ā
Next time, thereās no compromise
I feel like Iām finally unbroken
Feel like Iām back from the depth
My strength and my courage is growing
Out of my way
Cause Iām armed and ready
