SEASONS DON'T FEAR THE REAPER

Nico and Hazel are both incredibly kids horror movie/cartoon and indie horror game protagonists-coded so i see them as big fans of them in-universe!Important note is they don't like overly gorey or shock value ones and prefer ones relying on layered and detailed storytelling both written and visual.They also feel extra drawn towards ones doing allegories on important issues and have a hard time playing ones set in or modelled after their birth decades as it makes them sad with longing.They organize movie watching parties with Percy,Rachel and Piper's assistance and supervision and have their gaming sessions together in their rooms while cuddled up under their blankets and pillows

Annabeth was a Goosebumps kid and grew up reading classical horror novels and she keeps up with the world of literary horror in her teen and adult years too.She's not a mega hardcore fan of the horror genre but she understands it deeply and has a very strong appreciation and respect for it.Likewise,she's also very aware of and critical of the problematic backgrounds and history involved in it and prefers to seek out black female authors so she'll have a better chance at not stumbling into gratatious misogyny and/or racism claiming itself as deep yet 'not that deep' and she's quite fond of ballet involving dark themes

Percy's the one who introduced her baby siblings to their personal horror preference but she's not as into them as them because those were from when she was younger.She's watched almost every definitive in helping create the modern genre of it horror movie since she was born in the early 90s and was one of those kid's who rarely gets scared or scarred by fiction due to their real life being so much worse.She plays survival horror games often as they remind her of her trauma but they function as a means of simulating it in a controlled,fictional environment and letting her discover characters and stories she can see herself in

Thalia's super into gothic poetry as she's not good at holding a long enough attention fan for an entire novel but didn't want to be a poser goth even if she already listens to the music(and eventually manages to finish gothic novels she gets her hands on anyway).On fleshed out/extensive stories,she prefers them female centered,specifically where the horror comes in at telling the stories of the violence women face and discardment,demonization and identity distortion of them thereafter happening to involve supernatural/fantastical devices,though since she's fifteen and never really got have a childhood or grow up,that's definitely the part making her pick them over just thrillers and ironically,since she herself is a literal demigod,that makes them feel more realistic to her.Her tastes lie in less well-known places though as she relates best to black women in horror and ever since she could remember,she always picked out whichever game looked scariest at arcades and still does

Piper tends to play visual novels pretty regularly as they're her favorite video game genre next to storydriven platformers and horror VN's are far from an exception and slowly become her favorite with that genre funnily enough.However,she can't stomach traditional/straightforward horror movies as she finds them tasteless and stomach churning and everyone respects this but suggest ones subverting the tropes and norms to them which she appreciates and she's actually quite good with campy horror.Also she's so Final Girl-coded tbh
