winterfalcon sex worker au (or wtv this is)
Two weeks.
Two weeks with no text from Steve. Bucky can go longer without a text from Steve obviously, but after the fact that he just poured his heart out in a drunk call he's sure Steve answered? Yeah, he doesn't know what to do with that at all.
He placed his phone back on the nightstand and plugged in the charger. He's been on the edge about it because its not something he can just play it off as stupid words that didn't mean anything. It did mean something and that's scarier than Bucky would like to admit.
Steve has been *something* to his life, a constant. Someone who's always treated him well, up to the point that the line between friendship and something more blurred so hard he didn't know when he took the damn misstep. Now he's fucking waiting for a text that doesn't seem like coming anyway. He really shouldn't have done tequila shots.
Yes, go ahead and blame the alcohol for your heart's stupid words.
He slowly got up, body heavier than how he expected it to be as he lugged himself to the kitchen, hoping Natasha was nice enough to give her some leftovers. The metal arm feeling much more heavier than normal, which would mean it needs a tune up in Stark's little lab, which would mean he's gonna have to get past Steve's desk on the way there.
Fuck.
He should've just went for the tune up last month instead of waiting for today.
Should've, should've, should've. What an absolutely dumbass you are.
Bucky rubbed a hand on his face in frustration, forcing his arm to move better but the stupid arm doesn't seem to be listening to him, which meant he can't pass up on the tune up today. For fucks sake how unlucky can he get in one day?
++++
He kept his head down. A cap on his head, jacket on, and leather gloves to hide his metal hand because its one thing to be walking around looking like he's gonna rob someone, and another thing when someone screams when they see his metal arm.
Worse case, some kid would ask him if he's real.
God, he doesn't even know if he is.
He slowly pushed the lobby door open, the security guard giving him a visitor's ID since they've seen him around at least once a month. Its not like he caused trouble in Stark Industries, excluding that one time he accidentally crushed a doorknob but Tony told him it happens. Which is stupid because who the hell accidentally crushes a doorknob other than him??
He cautiously slid into the elevator, making sure to stick to the wall to not inconvenience anybody or make them uncomfortable.
“What floor?” the woman near the buttons asked him kindly.
"Top floor, Tony's office." he answered gruffly, looking away. He hasn't talked the whole day, his voice felt unused. The woman nodded, a look passed her face but she pushed the button for the top floor. He chose to ignore it.
As soon as the woman stepped out on her floor, he managed to breathe a sigh of relief, waiting for the elevator to go up to Tony's floor. The moment the elevator opened, guns were pointed at him.
"Uh, what the fuck?" he immediately puts his hands up in panic. What the hell is happening?
Tony who's behind four bodyguards sighed in relief as soon as he saw Bucky standing in the elevator. "Jesus, its just you."
"Of course its just me, what the fuck is up with the guns?" Bucky almost yells.
"We got a tip just minutes ago that someone in the elevator was out to get me." Tony explained, the guards going at ease the moment Tony pats them and walks up to Bucky.
"You have JARVIS to warn you with that," Bucky answered in annoyance, realizing the look the woman earlier gave him. Apparently he looks untrusted now.
"You're wearing a cap."
"I can't do this right now. I need a damn tune up, please and thank you?" Bucky answered as he massaged his temples.
"You're gonna have to wait, princess. you just gave us a company level threat and i have to stop anyone planning to make a report on it." Tony shrugged letting the guards disappear around the floor. "texting is a thing, cyborg. how about you learn it."
oh right texting. he forgot about that. he's been so wrapped up on waiting for steve to text him that he forgot a phone has other shit he can use, like *texting tony he's coming around*
"okay, cool. fine. whatever." he answers. "I'll just sit in your office."
"not planning to hang around capsicle today?" tony asks as they walked through the floor, the way to his office would have to pass Steve's office which he think he doesn't have the heart to do yet.
"nah" he answers shortly, steeling himself from craning his neck to find that signature blonde hair in the sea of office stalls. "not feeling up for it."
"that's new." tony hummed thoughtfully and opened his door for bucky. "i got an espresso machine if you want some coffee for you dark soul and a chair by the window if you wanna start brooding. make yourself at home."
Bucky gave him a look before sitting on the plush couch.
"...or not." tony mutters before closing the door, leaving bucky out of his depth and stopping himself from peeking outside the office.
he stands up and goes to the espresso machine and started brewing himself something to keep the jitters and the weird kind of want from creeping in. he's always been good with his hands.
well, hand. considering that the metal one refuses to move.
tony still hasn't come around by the time he was done so he decided what would hurt if he decided to come out of the office. maybe say hi to people he know, he might even see pepper if she's around.
so yeah, do not scare people. hold on to the mug. a deep breath before walking out of Tony's office.
Disaster.
The moment he opened the door, his line of sight immediately fell in Steve's face on the other side of the floor by the break room, talking a smaller guy who has this adorable twinkle in his eyes as he looked up to Steve.
Fuck.
He turned around and went back inside. Sitting on the plush couch so rigidly that if someone kicked him, his spine might crack. That's how Tony found him, eyes far away, holding a currently cold mug of coffee.
Tony, never one to miss an opportunity for commentary, leaned against the doorframe with his arms crossed. "Jesus, Barnes. You look like you just got hit by a truck. And not in the fun, ‘wow, that was a great night kind of way.’"
Bucky didn't react, just kept staring at some invisible point across the room, fingers wrapped so tightly around the mug that Tony was starting to wonder if ceramic could shatter from pure emotional turmoil.
Tony sighed, walking over and plucking the cup from Bucky’s hands. "First of all, I'm offended you let my gourmet espresso go cold. Second—” he squinted, “—did you actually just walk out there, take one look at Rogers, and immediately retreat?"
Bucky finally blinked, jaw tight. "It wasn’t just him."
Tony raised an eyebrow, the pieces clicking into place. "Ah. So there was a twinkly-eyed addition to the Capsicle show today."
Bucky inhaled sharply through his nose. "I don’t wanna talk about it."
"Oh, that’s definitely why you’re sitting like you’ve been personally wronged by the universe," Tony said, walking back to his desk. "Alright, broody. You wanna keep stewing in here, or do you wanna finally let me fix your damn arm before you get so tense you explode?"
Bucky was silent for a long moment, then finally muttered, "Fix the arm."
"Good choice. Also, next time, if you're gonna have a dramatic breakdown in my office, at least pretend to drink the coffee. I have standards."
"Who was the kid he's talking to?" Bucky asked quietly, finger scratching his jeans.
"Jealous?" Tony asked as he led him to the desk and making him sit on it. "Its his intern, Warren something something. I'm not good at names."
Bucky huffed, rolling his eyes. "You're a goddamn genius, and you can't remember a name?"
"I'm a billionaire genius, Barnes. I don’t have to remember names," Tony shot back, already pulling up the schematics for Bucky's arm. "That’s what assistants are for."
Bucky flexed his hand instinctively as Tony started running diagnostics, metal joints whining in protest. "So. This intern."
Tony smirked, tightening a bolt just a little harder than necessary, making Bucky grunt. "Still asking, huh?"
Bucky scowled. "Just making conversation."
"Uh-huh. Sure. Conversation. Not at all seething because Steve has an intern with a face that apparently twinkles at him," Tony drawled, fiddling with a wire. "Look, man, the kid’s harmless. He gets Steve coffee, prints out whatever Captain Morality needs, probably worships the ground he walks on." He paused, then grinned. "Actually, you two might have a lot in common."
Bucky gritted his teeth. "I'm leaving."
Tony yanked a wire, forcing Bucky to stay still as his arm jerked. "No, you’re not. Sit there and suffer like the emotionally repressed nightmare you are."
"Don't you dare jerk off my arm, Stark." Bucky threatened. "I'm going to throw my cat at your face."
Tony gasped dramatically, hand clutching his chest. “Not Alpine! You wouldn’t!”
Bucky narrowed his eyes. “Try me.”
Tony huffed, muttering something about disrespectful war criminals under his breath as he went back to fine-tuning the arm. “You know, this is exactly why Steve hasn’t texted you back. You’re emotionally constipated and make threats involving innocent felines.”
Bucky tensed but covered it up with a scoff. “Oh yeah? And what’s your excuse for people not texting you back?”
Tony smirked. “I ghost them first. Elite move. You should try it.”
Bucky gave him a look. “I did try it. Steve still hasn’t texted me back.”
Tony paused, raising an eyebrow. “Huh. Maybe he’s ghosting you.”
Bucky glared. “Fix my damn arm before I really do throw Alpine at you.”
a few minutes later, he quietly asks. "you think he ghosted me?"
Tony glanced at him, the usual snark flickering in his eyes before softening—just a little. "Nah," he said, tightening something in Bucky's arm with a careful precision that almost made Bucky feel human instead of a machine. "Steve's a lot of things, but he ain't the ghosting type."
Bucky exhaled through his nose, looking away. "Then why hasn’t he texted back?"
Tony sighed, putting down his tools and leaning against the desk. "Because he doesn’t know what to say. You caught him off guard, man. You dropped some heavy feelings on him. Cap’s probably pacing around his apartment, staring at his phone like it personally betrayed him."
Bucky ran his tongue over his teeth, mulling it over. "So, what? I just wait?"
Tony shrugged. "Either that or be a normal human being and text him first."
Bucky scowled. "I was normal."
Tony snorted. "You were a drunk mess and told your best friend you’re in love with him. That was normal?"
"I hate it here." Bucky groaned, tipping his head back against the chair before he perked up again. "how'd you even know what i told Steve?"
Tony gave him a flat look. "Barnes," he said slowly, like Bucky was especially dense. "I’m Tony Stark."
Bucky just blinked. "And?"
Tony sighed dramatically, spinning a wrench between his fingers. "And I have eyes, ears, and an advanced AI that picks up all the interesting gossip in a five-mile radius." He smirked. "Plus, Steve called me."
Bucky stiffened. "What?"
Tony raised a brow. "Yeah, buddy. Your blonde-haired, blue-eyed American Dream called me at—what was it? Oh, right—" He checked his watch just to be a little shit about it. "Two in the goddamn morning—because he didn’t know what the hell to do with what you said."
Bucky stared at him, stomach twisting. "And what did you tell him?"
Tony grinned. "To grow a pair and text you back."
Bucky groaned again, dropping his head into his hands. "I’m gonna throw myself into traffic."
Tony patted his shoulder. "You better not. I just fixed your arm."*
"I don't want to talk to him about it, if he wants to abandon me then okay sure, whatever." bucky mumbled
Tony rolled his eyes so hard Bucky was surprised they didn’t fall out of his head.
"Jesus, you’re dramatic." He tightened the last bolt on Bucky’s arm with a sharp click. "You and Steve need to stop acting like star-crossed lovers in a soap opera and just—" He made an explosive gesture with his hands. "Communicate."
Bucky scoffed. "Easy for you to say." He flexed his fingers, testing the arm. "Not everyone is a goddamn genius billionaire playboy philanthropist with a stupidly perfect relationship."
Tony smirked. "Flattered, but let’s focus on you, Romeo. What’s your next move?"
Bucky huffed, leaning back. "I don’t have a next move, Stark. If he wants to ghost me, fine. I’ll survive."
"Oh yeah, I can see that," Tony said dryly, gesturing at Bucky’s entire slumped-over, existential-crisis-ridden posture. "Real picture of emotional stability you got going on here."
"I wanna forget i even did that in the first place, care to quit it?" bucky rolled his eyes.
Tony snorted. "Oh, you wanna forget? Perfect. I got just the thing for you, bud."
Bucky gave him a wary look. "...I don’t like the way you said that."
"Relax," Tony waved a hand, standing up and grabbing his phone. "What’s the best way to get over a dramatic, unrequited, might-just-be-mutual-but-you’re-both-too-stupid love confession?"
"Punching bag?"
"Wrong. Distraction." Tony smirked as he scrolled. "And lucky for you, I know people."*
Bucky groaned, dropping his head back. "If you’re about to suggest what I think you’re suggesting, I swear to God—"
"Oh, come on." Tony leaned against the desk, wiggling his phone. "One night. No strings. No awkward history. Just a little fun to clear your head."*
Bucky frowned, shifting uncomfortably. "I dunno, man..."
Tony sighed. "Listen, what’s the worst that could happen? You have a nice time? You stop looking like a kicked puppy?" He raised an eyebrow. "Or are you scared you won’t be able to get it up for anyone that’s not Steve?"
Bucky immediately threw a wrench at him.

loki au (wtv this is)
look at what i wrote last year. its a loki au where he flung himself off of thanos' torture and is pre-brainwashed loki avengers 2012 that isn't house broken. where he managed to gather his power to portal himself to the void. this was post thor 1 and bc he wasn't brainwashed by thanos so the chitauri didn't come early but the avengers was a thing bc fury pushed it despite no threat so they're more... acclimated and legal and less fighty with each other.
the metal was cold on his wrist, but it was better than the shackles he had 6 years ago. The interrogation room was cold not that it bothered him but it was unsettling, to be in such cold room and stare at himself in a one way mirror that for sure littered with multiple heroes who are probably interrogating Thor much more discreetly than him because seriously, who wants to anger Asgard's new king? No one, that's for sure. So that's what he did, shut up and not piss off his captors. Something he learned the hard way years ago.
He lived long on Earth, – or Midgard, or Terra, or whatever this place that's filled with humans called – for almost 5 years. As far as everyone was concerned, he was already 21 in Midgardian age. Although he amongst few people knew that his experience was far from 21, but who's counting?
“Thor told us that your name is Loki” the speakers blared the voice of the doctor, Bruce Banner. “How come we never got you on our radar?”
“I don't know, doctor. Maybe I just didn't want to be found or your radar is faulty, choose a struggle.” Loki answered before concentrating his seidr flow to his his eyes to catch a glimpse of people behind the glass. “And it's William Harvey to you, Loki is way above your pay grade... if you're being paid at all.”
His seidr gave him a second to glimpse on the mirror before the cuffs electrocuted him. Looking at it with a frown he glared at the people on the other side, even if it meant meeting his reflection's eye.
Thor's voice emerged from the speakers, catching him off guard. “Brother, you must come home. Mother and Father will be delighted to see you alive”
“I am not your brother, Thor. Fa- Odin had shown you that, haven't he? Congratulations on you coronation by the way I'm sure Odin must've been proud and Frigga will would pester me to go back and i will never be able to say no once you tell her that I'm alive and somehow thriving in this little backwater realm. So please for the love of Norns, don't. I want my peace, I earned it.” Loki rambled, pleading for his peace and freedom once more. He had already long resigned his pride when it came to this, repeating and imagining the words he would say when it comes to the point of reunion, whether accidental or not.
“But don't you want them to know? By blood, you are not my brother, I have accepted that long before but we had a bond, you had my family and Asgard was your home Loki, atleast try to see that you're allowed to visit.” Thor pleaded, he still had a lot to learn about being a king and begging for Loki to even step foot on Asgard shouldn't be one of them. This is a show of weakness, vulnerability that he shouldn't be parading around this freely.
Loki pierced a look through the mirror remembering where Thor stood, towering over Tony Stark by the controls. He sighed to himself. “Thor... Asgard had spat me out long ago. I know your vast amount of power over that realm, seeing that you're King you can easily lift the banishment Odin had placed on me. But be aware that my presence will only cause a commotion in your court and you have to understand that I'm contented here. Believe me that I am happy, I have people who cares. I do not wish to go back, not even to visit.”
He meant every word that came out of his lips, everything was already in place in here. He felt peace, had reflected and agreed with himself that he never needed a throne. Everything was for Odin's affection. He straightened his back, not letting himself feel the weight of his words. The breakdown can wait until he's in the confines of his rune-covered room.
The speakers sounded again, but this time it wasn't Thor's voice.
“Loki-” Tony started.
“William” He answered with gritted teeth.
“Okay, William. We can go back to the tear-jerking reunion later but now, I- We need answers to all our questions.”
“About what?” Loki rested his head on his arms, tired of looking at his own dead and tired expressions on the mirror.
“Thor had the courtesy to give us information, that you've been missing for almost six year but your records say that you were only admitted in St. John's Hospital in Arizona 4 years ago.” Tony asked.
Immediately, Loki's head sprung up knowing where this conversation would go. Somewhere he had begged the Gods to make him forget, yet he still remembers every single night as the Gods rejected his pleas. Absentmindedly tracing his finger on the stitch of his light washed jeans where a scar laid underneath.
“That... that is none of your business.”
“Apparently, it is. Seeing that your documents are fake, we would be obligated to transfer you to Thor's care and have Godland measure your punishments.”
Loki's breath hitched in his throat. Panic bubbling in his chest, feeling like a caged mouse, cornered and trapped. He exhaled a ragged breath and tried to regain his composure. “Anything, any questions. Just not that.”
“We just need to know where you were in the last two years before you came to Earth, your hospital records say that you stayed for almost 5 months. Fractured spine, ripped tendons, hysteria, violent outbursts. That's not even half of it, William.” The softness of Natasha's voice caught him off guard. So that were his injuries, his mother never let him learn about any of it even after his confinement. It irked him that he had to know all about it this way.
“I was in the void.” He answered with coldness in his voice, lying through his teeth hoping to get away with it.
“The void does that do those things, brother.” Loki clenched his hand at Thor's voice.
“How do you know, Thor? Have you ever been banished to the void?” He can't help the bitterness that laced in his tone, holding on the last thread of politeness and calmness he had.
“No, but i know that the void is nothing but silence and darkness. None can ever attempt to hurt you like that.”
“Since you're so smart, then i will tell you what really happened. But don't think for one second that i will start talking in this wretched cell because I swear to the nine realms that i have every capacity to thrash this place and turn it into nothing but a steel ball.”

warning: mention of suicide, self harm, drinking, negative self talk (i think)
a feel like the new generation of fanfic readers NEED to understand that clicking on a fic (interaction) does nothing. ao3 has no algorithm. your private discord discussions of fic do not reach the authors. if you do not actively engage with writers they will stop posting. this isn’t social media this is community.
reminding myself that 7 kudos is 7 different people who have read my story and actually liked it
and idk about you but if 7 people came up to me in real life and said “hey we really liked your writing” i would just cry on the spot
Writing fanfiction is like broadcasting into the void of space.
Getting kudos is like seeing a blip on the monitors and knowing there's signs of life.
Getting a positive comment is like making contact and knowing you're not alone.

“this fic portrays problematic ship” then don’t read it
“this fic romanticizes bad things” then don’t read it
“this fic makes me uncomfortable and angry” then don’t read it
“this fic about my favorite fictional character goes against everything the character believes in in canon” then don’t read it
all of the problems you have with somebody else’s fanfic can be very easily solved by the act of Not Reading It
scroll past a fic if it’s something you don’t like, filter out tags about things you don’t want to see
no one forces you to read a fic that upsets you. also you can stop reading any fic at any time you want.
harassing real people over fiction will not make you morally superior. it just makes you a bully
writer culture is having so. many. ideas. for this really cool series and you have the perfect lines and titles and everything but you don't have time to write it and you're terrified that you'll lose your hyperfixation and never actually finish the series
Andrew Grant Kurtis - "Westminster Ripples"
avengers hunger games au (headcanons)
an au where katniss died in the 74th hunger games bc she ate the berries before the game makers could change their mind, peeta died early bc of his wound. the capitol moved on.
tony stark
- the most hated by the districts but came from the 5th district. (electricity)
- wasn't a career
- was an absolute little shit that no one volunteered for him bc they know howard would pay his way to make sure tony wins
- but before the games, howard and maria died
- the capitol loves him tho bc he's a charming asshole
- disassociates a lot in a way where he's more self harming.
- won by ruining everyone reality tv style
- also because he blew up an underground pipe that killed 4 careers.
- his arena is city ruins (that somehow resembles district 13)
- the cornucopia is basically a dilapidated building where the packs are hidden in different rooms
steve rogers
- is a a scrawny kid who apparently just needed enough food.
- his games got delayed after problems and problems stacking
- months later, the other candidates got scared bc he suddenly turned buff
- apparently he was stress eating and stress exercising in the capitol and going to the clinic everytime he coughs
- by the time his games arrive, he was a fucking adonis who was too nice
- he won his games by default bc the game makers flooded the arena
- steve has been taking care of everyone and telling them that the game makers can't do shit if everyone is alive
- he was the oldest in there
- he knew how to swim (district 4, fishery)
- after the flood, the only kid he saved died of hypothermia
- his rep was used to be advertised as the only victor who hasn't killed anyone
- in return the capitol killed his family and "killed" bucky but was really being used as an avox guard.
clint barton
- is a district 12 victor
- quiet and dangerous
- kept to himself
- he doesn't even have that much screentime.
- won by sticking his arrows on trees making a trap that decapitates tributes he chases
- this is why he's propaganda'd as an archer with different kinds of arrows that kills people
- and the worse part is snow absolutely hated him bc he represents what katniss stood for.
thor odinson
- is a victor of the lumber district (district 7)
- but anyway, that man is loved bc he came from the main importer of lumber in the capitol, the odin family.
- he also has the approval bc he's really just a friendly himbo.
- but in the games he's scary as fuck.
- no one knew how much his sponsor had spent to send an actual axe that he weilded too well.
- it was so heavy that no tribute can lift it
- thor got too excited he tore open the floor into the wires.
- is not stupid, an absolutely smart man.
- cannot be fooled. (duh loki is his bro)
- just believes the good in everyone.
- avoids having a night with sponsors.
natasha romanoff
- won at 14
- which was scary because half the time, the cameras can't even find her.
- she watched Clint's games and decided to do the same
- but she decided to stick her blades on black widow venom.
- everyone expected her to win obviously,
- she came from district 2 who supplies them with security
- her parents are big deals.
- she was a career's nightmare.
- the worse part is she doesn't kill outright.
- she just loves wounding people and let the venom do the work.
- the scariest part is she's not a mysterious girl for the capitol
- she's a two faced woman who snow is absolutely scared of.
bruce banner
- was the blubbering mess no one knew would win bc he was quiet
- he was too... polite
- and absolutely hates small talk.
- he winces at everything
- but everyone knew he curses like a sailor under his breath.
- won by sticking exploding berries in the water to remove the skin and just turned it into trip mines.
- hated talking to people
- kept on double checking his food
- from district 11 (agriculture)
wanda maximoff
- is a victor that everyone assumed was dead for 5 minutes
- before she suddenly gasped for air and laughed while there's a gaping hole on her stomach.
- survived through sheer will and just staying away from people
- the last tribute died of their own stupidity while she's just in a cave trying not to bleed out completely.
- from district 12
- the only one who cared about the crystals around
- was gifted with everything red.
- big surgery scar on her stomach
loki odinson
- was the surprise bc he got reaped at 16
- absolutely hated the whole being killed thing but loved that he has cameras on him finally
- hated that he's riding Thor's victory as the younger sibling.
- threatened people before he got reaped.
- absolutely hated how everyone acts as if the arena is scary.
- the only tribute who keeps on faking his death to the point that other think he's a ghost.
- has never killed anyone by himself.
- like he will make other kill for him somehow.
- watched wanda's game and made use of dying first (forgot the canon only goes off if his heart is down)
- also from district 7
bucky barnes
- an avox guard under snow's watch
- tortured him too well mentally that they didn't even have to cut his tongue
- has never talked
- his torture was watching steve die again and again (fake, bc its basically just the video of steve almost drowning and being cut)
- was tasked to be around victor! steve
- does not trust steve bc he believes its another torture method
- is not allowed to talk to steve
- hates being tasked to be in celebrations
- doesn't even scream when he has nightmares
i find it funny looking at damien and shayne over the years bc damien's look is always changing but shayne just always looks like shayne

Girls turn 13 and choose one of these three to obsess over for eternity
turned 20 and i became annoying about christian slater.
