After reading a couple of her interviews(and listening to her music of course!), I think I'm going to like her a lot.

The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble

No points for guessing what genre this band considers their music to be. Although I'd say they more obvious in the one than the other!

The origins of the band arise from an audiovisual project created by members in which they began creating soundtracks to classic silent films such as Metropolis(1927) and Nosferatu(1922), both brilliant films which have stunning imagery. Backing up mine and many other film enthusiasts' opinion that modern technology has led to a generation of film makers lacking in imagination and artistic capabilities of those in the past. But I digress. The band then continued to make music inspired by images from these movies.

Listening to the music, it's very easy to see how they were inspired by these movies/images. The minimalistic and eerie sounding music, mesh perfectly with the atmospheres these films portray. An ambient, dark fantasy. 

I got very excited when I saw there was a connection between this band and a couple of my favourite movies.
