nature is so damn trippy
No need to unpack your bags, the next Geyser of Awesome Field Trip is already set to go. This time we’re heading to Thailand, specifically to the Samphran district where we’ll find the spectacular Wat Samphran, the Temple of the Rising Dragon. It’s a Buddhist temple in the form of a vivid pink, 80-meter-tall, 17 story tower with a gigantic green and gold scaled dragon coiled around the entire structure. Climbing all the way to the top of the tower is rewarded by the opportunity to stroke the dragon’s beard or touch one of its talons.
“The design of the structure came to the founder of the temple during a 7-day fasting meditation, and is built 80 meters tall to honor the number of years that Buddha lived.”
Watch this video from Great Big Story to get a 360 view of this awesome temple:

92-Year-Old Grandmother Makes Stunningly Intricate Temari Balls
A ninety-two-year-old-grandmother from Japan creates stunning embroidered balls known as “temari,” (meaning “hand ball” in Japanese) which showcase a skill she learned in her sixties. A traditional folk art, which was conceived in Japan in the 7th century, the craft is tedious and highly demanding craft. The unknown woman has constructed 500 unique designs, which are photographed by her granddaughter NanaAkua. Overall these beautiful trinkets are a symbol of happy life and good fortune, which originate from friendship and loyalty.
Going on the “to-learn” craft bucket list.
Folks, read that again.
She started doing this in her SIXTIES.
It is NOT too late to learn to do the thing.

For the witch on the go
An archaeological dig on the Menemonee Reservation in Wisconsin yielded a clay pot. The pot was dated to 800 years ago and contained seeds. Some of the seeds were planted to see if 800 year old seeds were viable. An ancient squash was the result.
This is the coolest fucking thing, and don’t try and tell me otherwise.
Oh my god I have people who need to know this
Life is so fucking cool
