Haven’t taken a moment to post on iG about my time in the U.K. and Europe, so I’ll start with the main reason I was there - #Love - I’ve been friends with James for two thirds of my life, having met through friends, playing Footy. He’s been there for me when times get rough, but most of our days together have become halcyon. There is only one person who what it’s like to wake up next to me when I’ve just shat the bed (not my finest moment, but whiskey)! I know I’m never without a place to stay when I head for Northumberland, I’m always made to feel like it is Mi Casa! @gayle2509 came along much later, but I have no less love for her, she’s clearly a strong lady having had a decade of trying decipher what the actual fuck James is mumbling on about, and eight years of possibly the most vocally active child I’ve ever had the pleasure to know...at least Gayle has a cushy job where she can go and relax for a few hours a day! And Faith, oh Faith, the wildest of the hellions, and the sweetest of kids. When I arrived after my 18hrs of travel from #YYC I was beat! I took my bags up to ‘my’ room, and there was a single flower in a pot, with a note describing all that was good about me - I was pretty close to tears at that moment! I love you, (not so) little one. It was a wonderful wedding, and I was absolutely dripping with honour to be involved as best man - even if I didn’t have a suit until 30mins before the ceremony! 🤣 Love you guys, and can’t wait to connect in...FUCKING VEGAS!!! Today, the #beardedrunningtrucker would like to talk about #Failure a lot of people wouldn’t consider finishing any marathon a failure, nor would I. I’m proud that, with the support of friends, family, a great coach, and the best partner a man could wish for, I finished the #ScotiabankCalgaryMarathon in a time of 3:14:19. It was my third ever marathon, exactly 12 months after my first. I’ve come a long, long way in that year, and I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot. But I had a #Goal and that was to qualifications for #Boston2019 I failed. I couldn’t finish the race as strongly as I would’ve liked, and in the back 10km I lost all real ability to push! I came in 20lbs above the weight I really wanted to be at, I missed out on around two weeks of training mid-cycle (my own choice/fault), and I picked up an injury making my first ever #Podium a few weeks out from the race. I take full responsibility for this failure, and will take every step to make sure I have learned from it! Right, now that’s out of the way, on to the next challenge. I’m signed up for #EdmontonMarathon mid-August. I will use my experience of Calgary marathon to grow, and to improve...never have I been passed in the last 5km of a big race, I am the one who does the sprint finishes, I am the one who beats you at the line. That was a terrible feeling, and I vow to never let it happen again! #OnToTheNextOne (at Calgary, Alberta)

You’re right, the (stubbly) #beardedrunningtrucker has stopped wearing clothes...the weather in #FernieBC #PostFalls #Idaho has been incredible! I’m pretty sure I’ve not been this tanned since my Mam had a subbed circa 1999! Also, don’t let the #AveragePace fool you. I was running sub-4:08s on my #Intervals it was a 6*(1600m@<6:40per mile, 400m recovery) with 15mins #Warmup and #CoolDown feltreally strong and was way under the times, but the heat got to my as usual. #Runners #TruckFit #TruckersWhoRun #CalgaryMarathon #evandoesnthaveinsta (at Post Falls, Idaho)
