i like the backrooms when the fear it makes is paranoia "creating" monsters and getting lost with no return. i don't like the backrooms when it's all just content farm "extra levels. spooky real monsters that chase you" because it feels forced. i understand there's no one true journal, and the whole "every interpretation is valid :)" thing floats around. but idk, i like it being less toony. i don't think it needs almond water. or a smileface.jpg. i think playing on how the human brain goes insane with prolonged isolation will pair well with an unfamiliar, almost sentient environment
