Time to wiggle like you have never wiggled before.
cover and page 1 of a little heist comic for @plastic-pipes
i promise this is actually going to be silly and flirty from here on out, pipes <3
[Translation of a post on Twitter, I'll leave the link to the original post: here ✨]
An excerpt from an interview with the creators of Wednesday was released, where they state that the relationship between Enid and Wednesday "is about friendship" and not romance.
This reignited the debate about how sapphic couples have been boycotted on TV and streaming.
Netflix and much of the entertainment industry have already proven that audiences can change the course of a series, but this "flexibility" isn't for everyone.
There's a clear and problematic pattern:
• When the friendship is between a man and a woman, the chemistry is celebrated and, with audience pressure, it turns into romance.
• When it's between two women with a strong connection, intimacy, and massive fan base, the narrative insists that "they're just friends," even using all the codes that would be treated as romance in a heterosexual context.
With Wednesday, we see this blatantly happen.
Enid and Wednesday have chemistry, affection, mutual support, and nuances that, if they were a heterosexual couple, would have become a couple long ago.
But no, what we get is more queerbait: innuendos to attract a sapphic audience, followed by scenes without context (like Enid kissing a guy) to reaffirm a heteronormative narrative.
[My personal addition to the text, but MGM and Netflix also approved a novelization of the first season containing queer elements]
And this isn't an isolated case.
The list of queerbait is long: Wenclair, Supercorp (Supergirl), SwanQueen (Once Upon a Time), among others.
When it's not queerbait, it's premature cancellation: Bounty Hunters, First Kill, Gypsy, Warrior Nun.
Even Heartstopper, a global phenomenon, lost the chance for a dignified conclusion after its cancellation.
Meanwhile, male-female friendships like Otis and Maeve (Sex Education), Jim and Pam (The Office), Nick and Jess (New Girl), Castle and Beckett (Castle) are transformed into canonical romances because their chemistry pleased the audience.
This difference is no coincidence; it's veiled censorship.
It's not explicitly cut, but it's written to prevent sapphic romances from flourishing naturally.
It's a strategy that preserves "appeal" in conservative markets and keeps queer audiences trapped in crumbs of representation.
It's not about "forcing" romance where it doesn't exist, but rather about applying the same criteria to all types of relationships.
Because while heterosexual romance is accelerated and celebrated, sapphic romance is slowed down, silenced, or dismissed.
We see the pattern.
We recognize the boycott.
And we will continue to demand that our stories be told without fear, shame, and censorship.
Re-sharing this post I found on Twitter for people looking for alternatives to NaNo. I haven't tried any of these sites but they might be worth looking into.

Fuck NaNoWriMo
It's always been a shit way to write a book. Slamming through fifty thousand words in a month leads to burnout and a garbage draft you'll spend more time unfucking than if you'd actually just paced yourself.
I'm proposing Novel Outline November
Start with your idea on November 1st.
Write something for your novel every day. The only unacceptable amount is 0.
Attempt to complete the plot in 50K words. Stick with that as a limiting factor so you focus on what's most important to your story.
When it's done it's done! Everyone is a winner!
You will
Develop good writing habits
Challenge yourself to write long form
Create a base that can be expanded into commercial fiction (70-100K) or genre fiction (100-110K)
Happy writing!

Hey Disney-,
I am so pissed off with you right now that I would cancel my subscription, if I wasn’t leeching off a friend!
(I cancelled Netflix after they axed Warrior Nun so don’t think I wouldn’t!)
Are you sure I can’t tempt you to make seasons two and three if I promise to get my own account?
M
And on the Ides of March you backstabbing bastards!
Finally got around to watching Willow the movie again, having binged season one of Willow the series several times, and found myself amused by so many things, but none so much as this.
Even before switching sides Sorcha was never fond of General Kael, especially during this scene when Bavmorda orders Kael to assist Sorcha in tracking down Elora.
I’m giggling away and all I can think is ‘in about 200 moons time your daughters are gonna fall totally, ridiculously, desperately in love with one another’.
Please help us collect some important numbers
WARRIOR NUN FAN MARKET SURVEY
The #SaveWarriorNun movement has done incredible things in just two and a half weeks with a petition counting more than 99k signatures, more than 4 million tweets asking for the show to be renewed and saved, and numerous publications and media outlets covering (and openly criticizing) the decision Netflix made. These are amazing numbers and can only help the showrunners and producers as they fight for the show and shop it around.Â
What we want to do with this survey is test how well all these numbers and our dedication translate into profit for the company willing to renew/pick up the show, either from subscriptions or licensed merchandise, in order to strengthen our case for a renewal/pickup.
NOTE: This survey is completely anonymous and completely fan run. We do not have any affiliation with any company or corporation. We do not collect any of your data besides the responses you provide, and it shouldn't take you longer than 2 minutes to complete the survey.Â

Every little helps!
Also, I really want merchandise!
Done! I’m sick of not taking action when something hurts or marginalises me. I don’t know what their official reason is for not renewing the show, and I don’t care. I loved the show for the story, the action, the intrigue and the Avatrice of it all and they have taken all of that from me.
Here’s hoping that my £17 a month, added to all the other cancelled subscriptions makes even a small impact on the company, but more importantly shows my solidarity with the fandom community and the people who worked tirelessly to bring us this gem of a show that will live on in our creativity.
Should another service come to the rescue they will have my subscription immediately.
Edit: full reason for cancellation reads ‘You cancelled Warrior Nun. Shame on you.’

RENEW WARRIOR NUN FOR SEASON 3
Get in the fight!
So how do I contact Netflix to tell them what utter cowardly douchebag fuckers they are?
