Rewatching Wheel of Time with my niece (whoâs seeing it for the first time) and just loving some of the little details!
I love how kind Mat is pre ruby hilted knife. Heâs the one who always notices when someoneâs feeling bad, or when something has gone wrong. It makes his transformation into the self-centered, petty post-knife Mat all the more stark.
âOh, you actually tried to kill meâ is still such a great line.
I love the songs and Iâm so sad we never really got Mat singing. Or the Band of the Red Hand. Or much awesome Mat. (We got so close!)
With a little distance I can see how obnoxious Nynaeve is (my sister hated her). (Donât get me wrong, Nynaeve can do no wrong in my eyes.) Feels book appropriate.
It doesnât seem weird anymore that Perrin was married. He married Laila in this turning of the Wheel. Thatâs just all there is to it.
My niece is impressed by the costumes, and itâs, like, just wait until we get to season 3! (Cries in under-appreciated costume designers done so wrong by the Emmyâs.)
Iâm being very good about not stopping the show every two minutes to geek out about some Easter egg of whatever, but I almost did an info dump on the symbolism of the well in the Ghealdan scene.
I love how much detail they put into accents and everything for the different countries and cultures. We never got Ebu Dar or Ilian or so many other places and Iâm bummed.
And that gets me mourning all the Forsaken we never got and Tuon and Talmanes and now Iâve made myself sad đ
