(Apologies if this comes off as rude in any way I genuinely wanted to answer ur question!)

Ohhh I get it now. TBF, conquest’s violent nature is a core of his character and removing that would kinda mean it not being conquest, then we have the fact that conquest brought out the worst of Mark as well. I understand that it seems like that on a surface level—I mean, of course he gutted mark and mark smashed his head to a pulp, I’m not denying that—but there is so much more to them that isn’t just violence without reason. You see, it depends a lot on the person who’s interpreting the ship and how they imagine a relationship like that can even come to be. If you base yourself *only* on canon interactions it’s hard to see it as anything else, but on my side, I think there’s lots of ways to get them together without abuse and/or coercion in the middle (I’ve seen lots of fics execute it near flawlessly) the violence is inevitable tho but there’s lots to say about like the symbolism n weight of all of it. There’s stuff that explains this better in the #writing tag in the blog ngl I’m not the best with words ^_^💧I guess my point is that there’s much more to it and no one sees it
