So apparently it's anti-bullying week.
This makes me angry. We live in a world where we have to have a whole week to remind people that being cruel to people is not okay. I support anti-bullying wholeheartedly but not only is it ridiculous that we need it? But also, the whole concept of anti-bullying is never ever EVER taken the right way. If you don’t know what I mean, I suggest looking up “To This Day” by Shane Kozycan (think I spelt his name right) so that you can understand. Warning: sad af.
No person who thinks that telling someone to “ignore it” or “tell someone you trust” is going to magically fix all your problems deserves to tell that to anyone because I can tell you from experience that that makes a person feel worse. If you can somehow pluck up the strength to talk about it, you feel like shit that it doesn’t make you feel better.
Now is the time to talk to people. Take their mind off things. Remind them they are special and hug them and cry with them, if they need to cry. Yes, bullying is bad. Yes, it will make you feel like a wreck. But you are so much stronger than you know. You have a 100% survival rate for every challenge you’ve come to and you’ll make it through this one too.
