You’re roused from your slumber as an alarm goes off, your hand shooting out of the covers to swat at it to stop the noise. After a couple of failed attempts, the shrill ringing finally stops. Your hand dropping as a sigh of relief leaves you, tense muscles trying to settle down.

There’s a body pressed against you, a leg between your own as they lay on their side, an arm pulling you close by your side with deep, steady breaths against your neck.

While the room may be pitch-black, you hope Daniel can feel the ANNOYANCE(?) of the eye roll you give, grumbling that your arm trapped under him is numb.

You could try to shake him, but he still wouldn’t budge. Old man- yes- but a fledgling nonetheless. Big, baby vampire that can’t stay up just if there’s even a hint of sunlight in the sky.

You have a couple hours before he actually wakes up so you attempt to shimmy out of his grasp. The man is dead asleep and yet, his calf locks around yours.

Letting out a long and exasperated sigh, you give a subtle side-eye to see if he cracks, but Daniel remains asleep, comfortable pressed against you.

It’s soft, bedding freshly washed as well… no harm in resting your eyes for a little bit.
