First we’re gonna start off about the fact that dumbass people think chop top would go to a hippie party or a concert, LMFAOOO whattt?!?! Shake your head and lmk if you hear rocks, it’s extremely out of character, for one I highly doubt Drayton would let him go anywhere so he could keep the chili business rolling, he literally got mad at chop top in a deleted scene for going into a GAS STATION, which is a small in and out place, so what makes yall think he’d let him go to a hippie party/concert knowing damn well it’s much larger and you stay there longer? Get real, and yes I know Drayton goes to his chili cook offs but that’s Drayton, and chop top is chop top, Drayton has more social skills, which I know a lot of yall say chop top has more, but he doesn’t, Drayton has more common sense, but chop top is smart, and that reminds me, I don’t think HE himself would even choose to go to places like that cuz of the business, afraid he’d give it away that he’s a cannibal, and plus that man is NOT a hippie so he obviously don’t believe in free love bs or anything like that (obviously he’s a killer cannibal), unless it’s the anti war part then yeah, but other than that he probably just likes the fashion and music which that’s clear, and even if Drayton would let him go, chop top wouldn’t even have gas money to go real far since they are in a very rural area with nobody around or money to pay for tickets at a concert, considering every dime he has gets handed over to Drayton for the cooking business, and he’s not selfish with his money when it comes to his family, ask and you’ll get it, he’s the provider after all, so no, I don’t think he’d go, logically he wouldn’t and logically wouldn’t be allowed to go, and also I think he rarely goes anywhere by himself, he always goes somewhere with bubba or nubbins, the most logic thing I can think of is that whenever he’s alone for too long he gets very paranoid about the war, so Drayton sends bubba with him or Drayton himself goes with chop top to help, considering how bubba helped chop top shut the hell up with his ptsd flashback lmfao. So no, he would NOT go to any place like that, idgaf if you disagree, watch the movie.
And I seen a HC that he went to a hippie party and not only that but got LAID, IN the back of his truck?! That man is a literal VIRGIN, the family views sex as a terrible thing and something that is unknown to them which chop top 100% follows along in line, which is probably why chop top damn near went cross eyed with confusion and nodded his head when Drayton said “it’s a swindle”, the most he’s probably heard of it is from dumbass fellow troops which he’d almost always get into fights with yell about it
Btw I genuinely think he got all his vacations like R&R and any bar, brothel etc access snatched immediately cuz he was likely very dangerous and mean so he got extra duty and was watched heavily by guards and got article 15, which was a majority of things but I think he got the 3 of, restriction of barracks and base, extra duty, and loss of pay, yes it’s a lot but he was probably a war crime typa soldier (except the rape, he’s not like Otis, fight me)
Another one, chop top was always crazy, yall forget about all American massacre, stop trying to make him be a character that YALL want him to be including with his virginity, the sawyers were always crazy

ok idk if any1 cares but ive doing a lot of research on when chop top would of been drafted into the war… and it was a lot more complicated than i thought it would be… BUT ANYTHING TO FEED MY VIETNAM WAR AND CHOP TOP FIXATION 😛😛
For some info, i highly doubt the creators put this much thought into it but I MADE IT KIND OF MAKE SENSE.
ANYWAYZ, we can probably assume Chop top only did one tour (a tour would be 12 months at war) cos i HIGHLY DOUBT HED VOLUNTEER FOR ANOTHER. Boot camp, etc. takes 6 months after being drafted before soldiers were actually sent to ‘nam. so alone that was 18 months.
Now for this next part it is important you know they switched to the lottery draft method in 1969. It’s where they would pull random birthdays out and it would be broadcasted everywhere, if you were 18-26 and ur birthday was pulled in the lottery, you’d be drafted.
I believe he was drafted in 1971, though it is difficult to figure out because I’m not very positive on his birthday. I don’t know if there is a canon statement on his birthday but his wiki says october 7th… now I also went to see if Nubbins had a canon birthday (since they r twins!!) and again it was his wiki saying july 12th I believe… now THESE MAY VERY WELL NOT BE CANON SINCE IT IS JUST THE FANDOM WIKI!
October 7th would make a lot of sense because… OCTOBER 7TH WAS PULLED IN THE 1971 LOTTERY!
I’ve read somewhere that Chop Top was born in 1945 (i believe this is canon…) so he would’ve been 25-26 when he was drafted.
The draft took place on August 5th, 1971, so Chop Top would then be sent to boot camps, etc for around 6 months, before actually getting to Vietnam in early ‘72 where he would’ve served his 12 month tour.
U.S. troops had started to be withdrawn between 1972-1973, last troops to leave left March 29, 1973 (though I believe it was high ranking officers).
Chop Top probably didn’t serve his entire tour (well obviously… look at that head wound!) I feel like he served most of it, getting the injury towards the end (explaining why he wouldn’t be in the first movie… IK THEY DIDNT PUT THIS MUCH THOUGHT INTO IT COS HE WASNT EVEN MADE YET BUT IT MAKES MORE SENSE THEN HIM STILL SERVING IN VIETNAM)
So I think he was in the hospital when the first movie was taken place. Which, HE WOULD’VE BEEN THERE FOR A WHILE… The first film takes place on August 18, 1973, so even IF Chop Top were one of the last to leave Vietnam in March, he still would’ve been in the hospital for like five months.. which for a head injury like that is pretty realistic for the 70s…

Yess this was my same exact thoughts, but to me I headcannon he was drafted a bit later like in Late 72 or early 73 cuz I did a LOT of research, and its canon he got injured during his tour of duty, so I think he only did like…5 months in tour of duty, and i searched it up and yall. It’s much longer than five months for him to have stayed in the hospital😭😭 poor baby

What are y’all’s theories that makes the most sense to you, about chop tops time in Vietnam? I’ll tell mine first, he was most likely drafted a little late due to the fact that he and the family was severely isolated and hard to find, and when he did get drafted he wasn’t there for long, I mean less than a year, probably 10 months, 5 months for training and 5 months for tour of duty, getting drafted in early-mid 72 like in march and came back injured in February of 73, and before yall say “but it’s canon he was in tour of duty in August 1973!!” The creators are kinda stupid for that cuz the US had a withdraw from Vietnam in MARCH of 1973. And came home, and it’s canon he got injured during his tour of duty and was in the hospital for a WHILE, most likely almost a year, cuz it was the 70s and it took that long for an injury THAT BAD, and I lowk think his tour of duty was cut short to maybe only 5 months, he most likely missed R&R from either getting injured or fighting with one of the soldiers and got his R&R privileges snatched lmfao, which it takes too damn long to get on the waiting list for it anyways. Choptop doesn’t seem the the romantic type on the outside, but on the inside, he’s the type to take his jacket off, lay it over a puddle and say, “after you, m’lady”
But, at the same time, he’d be pretty receptive about love; He wouldn’t believe it.
Choptop is more aware of his looks than he lets on, He knows he ain’t no model, but he doesn’t realize that he’s still attractive in more ways than one.
People are turned on by his oddly specific demeanor, it’s just him, No one has a demeanor like CT’s;
Sporadic & chaotic, yet, weirdly calm.
Being in the army definitely helped him out physically, (besides the plate)
it made him naturally stronger, he can take a good punch and get right back to it, almost nothing holds him back.

Chop would simply not comprehend how someone wants to be with him.
Bobby himself doesn’t even go out of his way to flirt, he just teases people and kills them.
BUT, if he were to indulge in his romantic side, he’d be very subtle about it.
Bobby would still treat his partner like his best bud, the only difference being that he can kiss them and all the couple stuff.
Although, he would still be extremely protective and would probably get worried if he did/said something that made his partner upset, if he already doesn’t know what’s wrong.
Chop would also fight with Drayton all the time about them. Drayton would be like, “why you lovin on prime meat? Takin away from the business like some hog!”
