ive been thinking for a while now, i know the show is half whimsy and half politics but Anyas role has always been the most interesting to me.

In an adopted family as a kid that has been experimented on before, possibly have been done tests on, been in a high stress environment coming into a dynamic where she feels safe. Yet this family exists on the condition that she does well in a different high stress environment, in academics which probably never been her strong suit, already starting from a set back (being younger than her peers) is just so interesting to me. Untapped potential.

And imagine having all these horrible experiences, terrified you’re going to be put back in it if you don’t perform AGAIN, coming from a place where you were made to achieve either a war or world peace, to a family where your job is to make world peace happen. The two situations have so many parallels and there is just no way a kid wouldn’t be triggered by it sooner or later. I always imagined she slowly grows up to have performance anxiety.

How much sway did he carry in Yors outfits? In the ones he designed for the interviews? How many more outfits did he prep? Did he make any of his Family outfits around the clothes she already had or does he just semi regularly come home with new coordinated family outfits and add it to the laundry piles without a word.

Does Yor have thoughts about those outfits? He said she'd look good in blue. But red and black are easier for work. Does she think about how he picked that fabric and style. Imagined her wearing it and thought 'yes that will be nice'. Does she get overwhelmed even considering that despite not caring about clothes very much before.

Loid knows. He knows which of the outfits she wears and which ones sit in the back of the closet largely untouched. Mentally updates his notes regarding which fabrics and colors and cuts and styles they both prefer. It's just breathing to him. Considering them both.

Has he ever asked Yor for one of those dresses back, the ones she doesn't touch. Smile at her confusion and said he's going to get it changed so it works better for her. The sleeves annoy you right? I'll get it fixed.

Yor realizing that Is why she doesn't wear that one. Even as she feels guilty for not wearing his gift more. But it Is better after that. Regularly enters the rotation. Not just because of the sleeves. But because every time she wears it it reminds her. Loid thinks of her and thinks of her and thinks of her. Even if that's his norm.

But Papa doesn't want you to hurt. I don't know how to fix it. I don't know what you've been through. But you always seem to forgive me for those failings if I buy you a spy wars poster or make you your favorite dinner or get you dessert. It's not enough. But this is Papa trying.
