I made a Niffler tonight. Who carries giant coins around like that? Niffler. Niffler does!

Re-shot the picture so the colors are better. I was in a hurry to post the previous piece but realized the colors weren’t the best.

Been spending the whole day finishing up these guys.

Taking a break from my normal drawings to study up on skeletal structures.

I really adore this story for a number of reasons, but to me the overcoming of one’s past mistakes, the intimacy of opening ones self up to another, and the timid uncertainty that builds is what I love the most about this story. You have lucius, struggling with Azkaban, struggling with his changing family and how the world views him as a former death eater slowly opening himself up to hermione. And it’s eventual passion and thoughtfulness but not without showing the struggle to get there. Which I adore a good slow burn romance, so there’s that too. I wanted to create a feeling of intimacy and caring that comes across in the story in my piece, so hopefully that’s conveyed well. Finally finished up @colubrina s piece for their “Pygmalion” story. The story has dark tones with a feeling of seduction and allure so I tried to convey that through the body language between Riddle and Hermione. I’m going to have to go back and fix the lighting once we get the screen callibrated. This piece was really fun to draw, especially had fun figuring out how to draw young Tom Riddle, and im quite happy with that horcrux. So I didn’t realize how terrible the lighting quality was until I actually sat back on my laptop to check it out. Tried to fix the lighting on this one up some more, but I might just have to go back and draw them again at some point. That’s what I get for putting my faith in phone photoshop apps. Oh well.

Finally finished @freya-ishtar s piece for her “Diety” story. The end result was a lot of blending, and figuring out which blues, greens, and yellows worked well together. The inspiration for the clothing was used from some Guild Wars games and a few costume designs I saw online. Getting those wings fluorescent enough in similarity to dragon fly wings was also a bit of a challenge. And finally the lavender clusters aren’t fully lavender. They’re mostly pinks and purples, but we’re saying it’s normally those colors because it works well in the photo. On a side note, if you haven’t read her story yet, you need to, because she writes these two so wonderfully. I always enjoy getting to do artwork for freya because her stories are oh so lovely. And I probably need to draw another thing for her at some point. *starts counting the number of fics she’s written* ….okay I need to do more art for her at some point. *yells out the window* “You’re a lovely writer, I love your work, and I hope you like my doodle! :U ”
