killugon is so good because what do you mean there are these two 12 year olds who are both extremely talented/specialized/strong in unique ways in comparison to any normal person-- and suddenly they find that kind of equal ground with each other. and instead of seeing each other as rivals they actually immediately become best friends. in their strangeness and isolation from other normal people their age, they are only able to seek normalcy in each other. the one whos a cold murder assassin ultrakiller is somehow less morally questionable in his true nature at heart than the happy-go-lucky kid who was just pretty much raised by animals in the forest. the sweet-at-heart murderboy kind of idolizes him actually. it gets really codependent and gay. they try to die for each other multiple times
