So this is the first of many Corswain posts. I really wanted this model to have a dynamic pose and base. I also wanted a helmet on & off option. I used a chop saw to cut the Lion Forgeworld base apart and get the bits that would allow me to show Corswain wading through a gaggle of Night Lords. I also incorporated some of his models terrain in the back of the base. Super fun Custodes Dreadnought! This was for a student how had to cancel so I used some life hacks and finished this lad up! This model was u def 2 hours build to paint with some very helpful short cuts. So finished the painting case!! As foretold there are 2 Two Sided sections for maximum paint storage. Got my whole paint collection in one semi mobile place. There is a latch that locks the whole thing into place and makes it pretty mobile so excited to taken my painting party on the road. The real question is why didn’t someone make this already so I’d isn’t have too!!! LOL Project is as follows: (2) 25 inch 4.5 inch boards for sides. (2) 27 inch 4.5 inch boards for top and bottom. All attached with screws, the Black L brackets are kind of decretive. I did 2 screw at each connection point to complete the rectangular shape. The (2) 13 inch width 1/2 plywood to to make the center shelf holders. (6) 24 inch acrylic shelves from Amazon or AliExpress for each side. Stained the project grey with brush and wiped with a rag. Then added random splotches of black stain and wiped with rag to give depth and contrast. Whole was sealed with shellack. Wheels are just ones I had lying around from some Ikea furniture. Drilled a hole to size and screwed the in. First one I made took an hour due to trial and error second one was 30 min, with stain and sealing 3 hour project. All materials and stuff was $180. So you ever have a problem that requires a unique solution? My paint rack was over full and need expanding but everything on the market was going to dominate my space and be more of the same problems. My super talented girlfriend @amyellecrafts sent me some spice racks for solutions and after some trial@and error we have half of my new V (Bi) Fold paint rack. $38 of lumber and $60 of acrylic shelves later we almost there!!
