To discover more about my media brand, I looked into my Instagram Analytics to find out more about my audience and reach. I currently have my Instagram profile set up as a business account so that I can see which posts are gaining more attention than others. Understanding these metrics allows me to better understand my audience and my own social media presence. 

First, I am able to see that I’ve had 107 profile visits in the last 7 days. When I click to inquire further, this will show me the stories or posts that lead to this level of engagement. You can also see have any followers you have gained or lost during this time. 

Where is my audience located? The majority of my audience is in New York City, which is where I live. The second and third-biggest locations my audience comes from are Denver and Boulder, where I lived and went to school. Lastly, 3-5% of my audience is in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Audiences can come from anywhere, I think that these locations make sense for me personally because there are places I’ve lived and places I’ve tagged in my photos.  

More demographics about my audience: 

The majority of my audience is female and between the ages of 25 - 34. 

When are they active on Instagram? Right now is a little different than normal. Given the developing Coronavirus situation, we are seeing that users are on their phones for longer periods of time each day. Right now my followers are spending the same amount of line online each day of the week. The most common hours are between 9AM and 6PM. 

Something else that I find incredibly interesting is that you can filter through posts and stories to see which ones people are clicking “back” to revisit, which links are getting clicked the most and which stories have been shared or forwarded with others.

To complete this assignment I used my Rent the Runway membership to try on 4 different brands of pants in various sizes to find which one fits me the best. ( I completed this assignment during the COVID-19 outbreak, so it was safer to use my membership than going into a department store. ) One of the downsides to Rent the Runway is that size is relative to the brand, and ordering items without trying than on can be tricky, for this very reason. After trying one many different sizes, I finally found the one that fit me the best. I then ordered 4 different pairs of pants in this same size. 

For the purpose of this assignment, I tried on the garments shown above

Item #1 - High Rise Rag & Bone Jeans - The waistline on these jeans were a little snug where the button clasps. Although the jeans were a tad snug, the zipper area was rather loose which created a generally ill-fitted item (for my body type). I think that this is due to the fact that these jeans are high waisted, which can be more of a tricky fit. The length of these jeans fit me perfectly. 

Item #2 - Current Elliot 5 Pocket - Overall these jeans are extremely snug all around, from the button clasp to the thigh area. These are not the type of jeans that I would recommend wearing out to dinner because they are extremely stiff. Additionally, I would have to wear a shoe with a heal for the length to fit properly without having to roll or cuff the bottom. 

Item #3 - Wyne Crop J brand Jeans - These jeans fit perfectly at the waistline, not too loose and not too snug. These are the type of jeans that you can sit in at work all day long or on an airplane. The length of these jeans is perfectly cropped above the ankle. This cropped look is something that is difficult for me since I’m on the shorter side. The length of these jeans can take them from winter to with booties to summer with sandals. 

Item #4 - SJYP Denim lined detail - Similarly to the J Brand Jeans, these fit perfectly. The waistline is high waisted but the overall waistline fit comfortably. These are a great option for a long car ride or other activity where you would be sitting for an extended period of time. These pants are made of a different material, which plays into the reason they aren’t stiff like the denim can be. The length of these pants are little below the ankle meaning that they could be worn with flats.
