         Her eyes widen as he describes her family to a T. To have come to that conclusion from such a short interaction – he was an interesting creature indeed. She returns a nod and a meek smile. “You’re right. My family is definitely weird… to say the least. But because you can talk to people, I’d like to think you’re fond of them. Imitation is flattery, or you know what they say.”

         His paw feels tremendously heavy in her hand and she cuts the handshake? Pawshake? – short, give it a small shake before letting it return to its owner.

         “Soo… raw meat or… fast food meat? Because there’s a lot of the latter and is nicer on my wallet.”

“Is it not stated that a weird family is better than a normal one?” He returned her smiled, not sure if he got that quote right. “Do not worry about paying for me as I have acquired some money from my arrival here. I just need you to be my hands since I can not pick anything up due to my lion-like features.” At that comment, he couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle, 

“Really?” She hopes that to be true, but at the same time…Not. She wouldn’t want time to be still while she was away. She wouldn’t want them just to be frozen in place. And still, at the same time, she hopes that was true. If time was stilled over there, she wouldn’t miss anything. When she got back, everything would be the same. It would have been as if she had never left. 

“I guess you could be right, huh?” He was right, indeed. While she’s here, she will have to worry about her own safety. She’s been so close to….a lot of things. Being chased by some giant dog, seeing someone that looked A LOT like Michael (might’ve been the murderer), and who knows what else. 

“There’s a lot of stuff I would only see back home in the movies or Shows. Like you. A talking lion…You’d see that in Lion King or….” Narnia. HAH. 

“But if I’m gonna be honest with you, I don’t trust a lot of people, so I should be safe.”

“Our worlds will forever be connected in some manner, young one. A few humans from earth visited my land so I would not be surprised if your world holds stories of me and my people.” He paused, “I hope you don’t mind me assuming you’re from earth. You just let off an earthy vibe.” Aslan chuckled, “As far as everything else is concerned. I would not worry much about what is happening or not happing on earth. Worrying will only cause more worrying and nothing else. Now is time to move forward.”

How odd, thought Ai when he finished singing, that just now that song sounded different than it ever had. Some other emotion he’d never portrayed in the song had made its way into the words and notes. Was it more “emotional” than ever, perhaps? And yet it paled when compared to what Aslan had sung, that warm, enveloping sound. 

Once more, he wanted to hear it once more. Maybe he could learn something from it. And maybe that was the reason that praise felt good- strange, yes, but good. “… I do feel somewhat better,” Ai decided. He too smiled, slight though it was.

Aslan was right that the night had grown late. Still, Ai wasn’t a child, he didn’t need someone to accompany him! … On the other hand, he wasn’t familiar enough with this lion to outright refute him. That, and there was something he wanted to know.

“All right,” he replied. “I live a thirty minute walk from here. While we walk, I’d like to know more about the music where you’re from.” 

“As you wish.” Alsan waited for the boy to lead the way and follow suit. “It would be nice to hear about the music of your world as well. It’s amazing what you can learn from simply studying another cultures art.” 

His mighty paws flattened with each step as he followed the young blue-haired individual. He has a slight indication as to where the young man is from, but it is solely going off the information he knew before arriving here. The information that was just a part of his being has been cut off when he set foot on this land so now he acquires information like every other mortal, learning.

“I hope I did not offend you. I am ashamed of my lack of knowledge here in this city. It seems that the universe in my realm are a speck in vast reality. This realization is a hard pill for me to swallow.”

Aslan knew all knowledge of every universe while in Narnia, he thought, however he’s beginning to learn here that there are even more universes beyond his comprehension.

“……If it helps you feel better…. I’m… kind of completely out of my zone here. I’m one of… 3 of my world here, everyone else could be considered alien to me. Humans? I don’t know what those are… at least I didn’t. Now I kinda do. Trolls? Only trolls I knew were those online. So… you’re not alone there.” 

It warmed him to know that their relationship, even if currently forgotten to the lion, was valued so. All the more importantly was it that he not forget anything, if it could be helped, as precaution in case memories not return. “It’s a pleasure to recall, I’ve always been incredibly thankful for our friendship, and if I can keep it safe for us both, then I hope you can rest assured that it will be. It’s like a treasure, it’s important so it would be appropriate to safeguard it like one.

Aslan scanned the surrounding areas for signs of food. There wasn’t much, but a few locals had setups with items they could salvage from the catastrophe they endured. Aslan could only imagine what they suffered and that was part of the reason he did not mind spending his money here. He felt like he was helping the locals even if it wasn't by much.
