Sonar is a smart man... bat (Bat-man) but his intelligence mainly lies in academics and not emotions. He's more than aware you work a stressful job, but you seem to handle it so well that he didn't read too much in to it until one day was too much for you:

You had had a shitty day. Truly. You try to keep a positive attitude, but today just drove you so close to the edge: your team had been down a man ever since Phenomaman and Blonde Blazer broke up, and you had received a record breaking amount of calls. The B-Team was out of commission, which meant you were getting their calls forwarded to you.

Adding to that, the coffee machine was busted, so you couldnt even get your mid-shift drink and your pen exploded as you were finishing your report, which meant you had to redo it.

All you really wanted today was to get home, eat dinner and crash in to bed with your boyfriend.

Arriving at your apartment, you kicked your shoes off lazily and shot Sonar a quick text before making your way to the kitchen to heat up some leftovers.

Except when you went to take it out, some produce fell from the upper shelf making you drop your plate.

You didn’t even react when your phone buzzed on the counter with a text from Sonar, A simple "omw", you were too busy holding back the tears stinging your eyes.

He must've been closer than you thought, because not even two minutes after your phone buzzed, you heard the front door open, and footsteps make their way over to the kitchen.

He barely had time to make it in to the room before you crashed in to him, wrapping your arms around him and letting the tears fall.

I think he would actually full-body freeze at first, super confused on whats going on, but quickly after that, he'd raise a hesitant hand to your hair, run his fingers through it and then rub your back a bit.

He would struggle a bit to find the right words to make you feel better, especially because its the first time he's seen you in this state. He's worried he might set you off more, or say something more logical than emotional.

After he gets his shit together a bit, he'd guide you to your bedroom, sit you down and hold you until you calm down, attempting to mumble some comforting words.

After you calm down a bit, he'd let you go and do the thing he excels at: acts of service. He'd grab you a set of comfortable clothes, tuck you in under the blankets, turn the TV on and say something along the lines of: "If you want, you can sleep. I'm going to clean up. Then we'll talk, or not, whatever you need."

If you insist he stays, he will, of course. He'll even climb in to bed with his outside clothes and let you snuggle up to him like a teddy bear.

If you let him leave, he'll go clean the spilled leftovers from the kitchen. He'll, hell even try to cook up a small meal for you, "try" being the key word here. His diet doesn't really include "normal people" food, so it might not be a perfect meal, but its the thought that counts.

If by the time he's done, you've fallen asleep, he will let you sleep in peace, but if you're still awake you get to enjoy the food he made while he rubs your back a bit.

"Do you want to talk, babe?" he'd ask, giving you the chance to get whatever made you cry off of your chest. If you wish to tell him, he'll listen patiently, for once managing to keep his dumb jokes to himself and giving you logical advice. If you don't want to talk, he'll just let you fall in to him and hold you because he saw somewhere that it helps release serotonin and decrease cortisol and because you seem to need it.
