So I meant to finish the next chapter before I started work, that didn't happen, and now that I am working the chapter will be delayed further as work + commute takes 17 hours of my day

Now picture you're on the job and you've been sent on several back to back missions and your body is at the beginning of a panic attack. Right as Robert sends you on another mission, Sonar is putting an arm around you and walking you to the break room, telling Robert over the coms that you're taking your break. It's not that Robert is not caring about your situation, he just doesn't understand as well because he isn't a hybrid.

$ One day you buy him some of those bug lollipops as a joke. This dork, though, big wet eyes when you give it to him saying how you understand him. You’re in his arms now. There’s no stopping this. “I fucking love those things! I thought I was the only one!” You don’t have the heart to tell him all three were for him, frankly.

$ I am sorry to say this, but he probably gifts you an NFT at least once 😔🤙🏻 Victor’s lucky you love him! It may take a few times, but once you explain it to him he will be much more thoughtful and personal with future gifts to you, though.

$ For example, he takes it as a chance to flex to whisk you away to any state or corner of the world to bring you to the largest convention of your passion! Comic cons, massive garden shows, music festivals, author or booktuber gatherings, the super bowl, even a farming expo, you name it and Victor is by your side for it. Even if he's bored out of his mind, his eyes are on you and that wide, wonder-filled smile.

$ You're not the first person to pull Victor in for a kiss by his tie, but by god, you make it seem like it somehow. Every single time brings a smile and a special eagerness across his lips.

$ Wouldn’t ask you to do it, but Victor adores the habit you pick up of running your hands along his head, his back, everywhere the surprisingly soft fur grows. You’ll definitely catch him purring and nuzzling into you, even if he tells you not to tell anyone about this! It reaches a point, though, where he’ll lay next to you in bed and butt his head against you, clearly asking for your hand on him without having to speak it.

$ If Victor has the aux, you’ll probably be listening to podcasts or cringe millennial pop (he feels comfortable enough around you not to fake it with the rap or dad rock he puts on for the bros). If you don’t like this, it becomes a source of playful banter which usually ends in your boyfriend letting you have your way ‘because you’re so hot’.

$ Loves swiping his tongue along the seam of your lips as you kiss, hands winding tighter around your waist.

$ Just as he likes to keep you in a protective hold in his main form, so it is with the bat. You’re one of the few people he can really control himself around, in fact you help his bat form stay calm and he often falls asleep with you tucked firmly beneath his wings and wakes up spooning you with his arms.

$ May teasingly, very gently, smack your bottom when he’s feeling frisky or goofy and you walk past him or bend over in his vicinity.

$ Hot tub kisses! And shenanigans if willing. Just Victor pulling you into his chest and running a hand up and down your back, warm water bubbling around your intertwined bodies beneath the moonlight. One of Victor’s favorite dates ever 😌

$ As much as Victor talked up not wanting to get married and “tie himself down”, with you by his side forever he feels like he’d be the best version of himself. If it’s something you want too, he’d go all out with the proposal, probably taking you on a helicopter ride and having his proposal written out on the ground in flowers, so big (and expensive) it’s visible from the sky. “Well, will you?” You hear your boyfriend say as you gape at the massive display, turning to see Victor on one knee with a massive ring in your dream style.

Anyway, so the mecha man suit is still intact, but Robert is no longer able to fully pilot it with his limited range of motion. And Robert ends of having to come to terms that he will need help to hide and protect the suit and the pulse while he’s a weak kid again.

Since Shroud has escaped prison already, Robert knows he doesn’t have much time or options, so after beating himself up some more, he calls Chase. You bet your ass Chase has never wished he could use his powers more than hearing a shockingly young Robert’s voice coming from his phone asking for help lmao.

It’s pretty easy to convince Chase he was Robert, and not like Robert’s kid or anything. Robert was around 8, the scar on his ear still looking recently healed. And in the world they lived in, getting turned into a kid was like a leap year, didn’t happen often, but happened regularly enough that SDN had a whole protocol for it.

Chase immediately gets Blazer on board to get Robert legal papers and put him under Chase’s custody, as well as to get Royds help to move the suit discreetly into SDN’s labs for safe keeping(though of course Robert keeps the Pulse for safe keeping). Robert decides to keep his first name, but change his last name to Chase’s. Seeing Robert Pierce on his new fake birth certificate definitely doesn’t make Robert and Chase feel a lot of feelings.

Anyway, the cover story is that he is the son of one of Chase’s old friends, who recently passed away and gave him custody in the will. Since his friend was killed under suspicious circumstances, Robert would be coming into work with Chase until the coast was clear so to speak.
