October when it's 45 degrees: what have we done to deserve such a fate *puts on 3 layers of clothing, a winter coat, 2 pairs of gloves, and boots before setting foot outside*

Totally didn't take enough pictures, so I stole some great instagrammers' shots! đ What a great view - the hills were killer, but now I can say that I ran over the Golden Gate Bridge! Recovery is in the cards for me now, (rest and yoga,) and then off to break in my new shoes (Cumulus again) and looking for a few good late-spring halves!
My baby got real running shoes. Now it just has to stop raining so we can go out!

Does McDonaldâs Belong in a Childrenâs Hospital?
The childrenâs hospital where I work recently announced it will be getting rid of its onsite McDonaldâs. The restaurant will be out by the end of the year. It joins a long line of hospitals that have ejected their golden arches, including Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Lurie Childrenâs Hospital in Chicago, and the Childrenâs Hospital of Philadelphia. The Cleveland Clinic once tried to do so, but couldnât get out of its contract.
Why would a hospital seek to evict McDonaldâs from its premises?
In a nation confronting epidemics of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, healthcare facilities do not want to encourage fast-food eating patterns. No hospital wants to âsend the wrong message.â A 2006 study showed that people who see a McDonaldâs in a hospital tend to rate its food as healthier. Perhaps its mere presence smacks of endorsement.
