I have had a deep longing for time alone lately. I have been stuck in a loop of routine in service of my family, for what feels like, forever. Wake. Prep. Feed. Dress. Wash. Dry. Fold. Brush. Bathe. Wash. Teach. Scold. Play. Occupy. Run. Nurse. Nurse. Feed. Clean. Clean. Clean. Clean. Breathe? Sleep?

How can I know who I am if I never get to spend any time with myself? Knowing yourself is important because you are the only person you have to live with for your whole life. I take all the time I can these days. Any moment away is refreshing. A stroll through Wal-mart, speaking to noone, looking at noone, grazing without urgency to get back. Don’t get me wrong. I love all the time I have been blessed with to watch my family grow. Being a stay at home mom, and a mom in general, is cherished and I wouldn’t change them one bit. My husband could be more useful... but he doesn’t realize it. A needed a recharge. A breath of my own. A bathroom break without children scratching and growling at the door “moooooom, let me innnnnn!” I could leave on a dime and keep my own schedule in tact without the constant hovering and forced patience for another. And you know what? I wasn’t ever late. It was glorious and I regret nothing! More soon please?

More beauty from @duvet_days - - ・・・ I wish I could say that breastfeeding has been easy for me, but it has been a tough journey at times. I never was able to produce enough milk to solely breastfeed and have supplemented with formula from almost the beginning. Believe me when I say I have tried and continue to try everything, but nothing works or has worked to bring in the milk supply needed. I never felt bad about having to supplement though and it has been more an internal struggle of sadness that I could not provide solely enough breast milk on my own. Ultimately though it has been a beautiful journey of love and bonding and I feel fortunate that I am still able to breastfeed 50% of the time. There is something so magical about breastfeeding wether you are able to do it for 1 week or 2 years cherish whatever moments you have as they are fleeting. Never let anyone shame you for supplementing or fully formula feeding. You are providing your child with the nutrients they need to grow and develop and that is a feat to be celebrated regardless if it comes from your breast or a bottle.
