“Everything's gonna be fine, I love you.”

wicked is a movie about how people aren't entirely good or entirely evil, but rather, everyone is morally complex. for instance, elphaba thropp is basically a good person even though she kind of sucks at activism, but for some fucking reason she's madly in love with glinda. glinda, on the other hand, is the worst person ever and basically gets elphaba murdered by a child. but also she somehow manages to fulfill all of elphaba's heart's desires??? so it's complicated

Had a dream last night that they made a bway show like Wicked except both Glinda and Elphaba were green, and Elphaba wore a green sparkly hijab and Glinda was still blonde, and it was called “They’re Both Green”. Throughout the show they became really good friends (and maybe more) until the end of the first act when Elphie gets hate crimed and someone pulls her hijab off, and Glinda does nothing to defend her, so they get into an argument. Zohran Mamdani was also there seeing the show. And then my dad broke all the bathrooms in the theater (for unrelated dream reasons) and tried to gaslight me about it, and then I woke up and I’ll never get to know how the show ends.

Dining with the person you “loathe”, competing for a chair in a way that you throw your bodies against each other for it out of “loathing”, sparring (a sport where you’re in close proximity with your opponent and demands near constant eye contact) with the person you loathe, waking up in the middle of the night to gaze at the person you “loathe” because you just “loathe” them so much… I’ve loathed people before; you girls were not doing this right.

I say all of this unironically: if Elphaba had been alive to receive the news of Chuffrey’s death, she’s cackle loud enough to scare away all the crows in Kiamo Ko, take Liir by the hand to forcefully dance with him around the patio – the poor kid just following along in complete astonishment, because what do you mean my mom is touching me?! –, then grab the broom to make her way to a newly widowed Glinda, fully intending to make fun of her dead husband to her face, only to find Glinda in a mildly bothered mood that quickly turns into a mix of elation and ire (“You left me!”). Hard cut to three hours later when they’re resting over the silk sheets of Glinda’s bed, sweaty and spent, the blonde sleeping without a care in Oz while Elphaba stares at the ceiling thinking “Genuinely, how did this happen?” as if this isn’t what she wanted the whole time.

I feel like I’ve seen little to no reaction from the gay men fanbase about the lesbianesque behaviours unfolding at the ariana concert tonight like you’d think they’d be a little bit more excited about this but it is almost entirely just gay women. I have seen a lot of excited posts from them about how she looked cunty and they liked how she did the splits. Very interesting insights into dynamics of gender queerness and performance in the lgbt community. Will be monitoring the situation to see how these things develop going forward
