Catch a Falling Star

This is exactly how he needed and wanted to end the night, with Malone at his side. As much as he loved spending time with Seth during these moments he had always found much more peace with the girl. He knew he had made the right choice to walk home instead of staying at his friends place. There he knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep, right now he would have probably would have been tossing and turning and thinking about the problems his family was now facing. Turning his body completely now one hand was still holding hers and the other had draped over her wanting every part of him touching her in some way. Every once in a while, his eyes would flutter close before he scrunched up his face opening them again to look at her. These were times when realized how truly lucky he was to have fallen for a girl like Malone. Not many people their age had such luck and he was very much aware of that. Leaning in his lips had brushed over hers but never kissing them as he finally gave up and let his entire body relax soon falling into a quick sleep.

‘’Wow, this is really stuck. I’m going to cut you out okay?’’ he asked grabbing scissors off his desk and cutting the head apart. ‘’I think I’m going to cancel midnight madness, this isn’t on. They have no respect for anything. I promise I’ll figure out who did this? Okay? Are you alright?’’

“That is what I meant. Shit, that’s why they’re pissed. You gave them a week off school, they should be praising you.” Hennessey glanced over at Malone as the girl sighed - she was handling it well, all circumstances considered and Hennessey respected that. She gritted her teeth as she gingerly removed the seatbelt, glancing up towards the building. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”

‘’You’re so mushy Malone..’’ Niamh cringed. ‘’I do not need to know about what you and Kian get up to in the bedroom my friend.’’ Niamh laughed rolling her eyes at Malone. ‘’Yeah, but its better than me. The only thing I’m good at is sex, and it’s not as though I can just do that for a living. Well legally..’’ she laughed, running a hand through her hair. ‘’I guess I’ll eventually find something I’m good at, I just don’t want to get stuck in this town. I want to see the world.’’ She sighed, ‘’Yes you are, if you weren’t here I’d literally be bored to death! No it’s fine, I’m considering closing early actually.’’

A feeling of complete and utter bliss had taken over him and there were nothing and no one who could take him away from this high. To think this was a bedroom where he would hear nothing screams and slamming doors and now there was complete silence. Before he had found the silence eerie but now he had found it to be peaceful. Kian had found it very difficult lately to fall asleep but tonight it seemed he would probably get a good night rest and he knew it was because he had Malone here with him right now. This was said many times but she truly did bring a light into the small darkness that tried to sneak its way into his life. Tonight the smile would never leave him, especially when she had rested her forehead against his. Kian could feel his eyes getting heavier but he fought not wanting to fall asleep just yet, he wanted to simply look at her and enjoy the closeness for a few moments more before he would let sleep win.

Kian hadn’t moved an inch when he saw her moving in closer closing his eyes for a second when she had gently moved her nose against his. Eskimo kisses had always been considered corny and he was guilty of this thought as well but when it came from her he couldn’t help but find it adorable and she had always managed to make his heart want to come out of his chest. He had almost felt silly but who cared when she made him happy despite everything going on in his life at the moment. When those words left her he didn’t reply right away, instead, he raised her hand up towards his lips placing a small kiss on her palm. “I love you too.”

“Depends on what went down. But they’re fucking idiot,s so I’m sure they got what they deserved.” If Malone didn’t want to linger, they didn’t have to. But she was sure that this wasn’t the end of whatever conflict she was having at school. “You have a lot of experience with that?”

Breslin was unsure if he was supposed to feel a weight being lifted off his chest due to his words. He hadn’t actually spoken about this with anybody else besides Dallas - mainly because nobody else really knew that she was pregnant in the first place - and it certainly didn’t feel good to talk about. But he supposed that it wasn’t a completely horrible thing to speak out loud rather than letting these thoughts cloud his brain. A hand coming up to comb through the curls that had fallen in his face, he averaged his gaze from Malone to the stacks of books, but then from the stacks of books to the shoes on his feet. “I - uh… I - I — I don’t —,” he paused, releasing a sigh to collect his thoughts. “Okay.”

Breslin didn’t want to push his problems onto Malone, especially when they were so damn heavy that the weight of them were nearly collapsing in on his chest as they spoke. But she did have a point — he was always such a great listener when it came to her, there was no reason why she wouldn’t pay him the same respect. “I just - um - I — I don’t know,” he shrugged, setting one of the books between two others and occupying his mind with making sure they stood as straight as could be. “My wife — she was - like — you know, she was - she was pregnant. But, uh….” he shrugged once more, a frown settling on his lips. “I don’t know.”

“I mean, from a male perspective, I think that we’re easy. We don’t need elaborate things, you know? I’ve gotten a card as a gift in the past and I was over the moon. But I suppose it depends on the guy.”

‘’I reckon if you put your mind to it, you’d be a right great flirt!’’ she smiled at her. ‘’Waitressing is anyones calling, just gotta put your mind to it Malone!’’ she said laughing a little. ‘’You have a real talent! I mean I wish I was properly good at anything like that. Like I’m okay at things, but I’ve never been properly amazing at anything ever..’’ she sighed. ‘’It does indeed, doesn’t it..’’ She laughed. ‘’Well today, this dull is the fact there hasn’t been a customer in like an hour.’’

‘’Sure thing Malone. What happened? Was it one of the team? I’m so sorry about everything that happened.’’
