UNDER / GROUND.

    Normally Tamaki wasn’t so careless with his dear companion, sure he hadn’t had her for too long, but she already meant so much to him that he would never want to lose her. She had already been a stray once and she always seemed so content and happy to be living in his dorm, being spoiled with good food and toys- And a bed that she never used in favor of using Tamaki’s own bed instead. And of course how could he forget that she always seemed to help with the anxiety that had a tendency to haunt him? So her running out the moment he opened the door as of recent was a little alarming and concerning but…She was still an animal at heart either way.

    She had followed him back to school after working with Fatgum one day and had just sort of stuck around, so how could he say no? The poor thing had been much skinnier then and seemed to call out to him to take her in! But how was he suppose to fight against her will to run outside of his room? Sure he agreed and knew she probably needed more room to run around, but that dream was a bit far off- At least until he graduated. But having her roam around the campus was out of the question! Who knows what trouble she might get into- Or worse; If she got hurt!

    But since he didn’t exactly have permission to have her on school grounds, it only made sense as to why he wanted to make a run for it as soon as possible. Though really in the end, they would know he had the black fluff ball somewhere, so it would of been a fruitless endeavor. But of course, he pretty much froze when he heard the elder speak to him. He felt like he was in deep trouble already- But maybe it was just Aizawa’s tone that portrayed that. Either way, it already had Tamaki shaking a little from sheer anxiety over his current situation.

    He stayed in his spot as the teacher approached him, keeping his eyes off of him so he wouldn’t have to see whatever expression Aizawa may have had on his face. He glanced down as he saw the other’s fingers reach out to the cat in his arms, naturally making her curious enough to sniff him. It wasn’t even a few moments later before she had rubbed the side of her face against his fingers before proceeding to lick at them with her course tongue. “U-Uhm…I-I’m sorry. She- She only started trying to get out recently. I-I’ll do better to keep her inside…” His tone already sounded so upset, as if expecting that chance wouldn’t even come and the chunky cat would need somewhere else to reside.

        Aizawa knows he should reprimand Tamaki, that’s the sad part here. If he wasn’t so goddamn whipped for these funky animals, then maybe he’d have the stronger heart to do so. Because ... well, pets shouldn’t be allowed in the dorms. They aren’t. Koda is the only obvious exception, due to his quirk, & his ability to speak to the animal if it were to run rampant, but not everybody has that privilege. & he knows, once one student brings an animal into the dorms, suddenly every student’s going to want one. Its just a situation that’s bound to get out of control eventually, so it’s best to nip it in the bud by saying that no animals at all were allowed. 

        But --- this situation ... God damn it, Tamaki. 

        Just like that: Aizawa melts. Not that he wasn’t a complete pile of mush before, just from seeing the cat at a distance ... but it's definitely a little more outward this time. As soon as she rubs her cute, amazing, could do no wrong face against his fingers, licking them afterwards with her sandpaper tongue, a pleased smile tilts the corners of the teacher’s lips upward. & since he’s only human --- & a cat-loving human, at that --- he indulges in her need for more pets, scritching his fingertips against her whiskers in the way that all felines seem to love. 

        He’s damn near cooing by the time Tamaki speaks up again, & there’s a certain edge to his voice that makes Aizawa’s shoulders slump. He may be strict, & rather unforgiving as a teacher ( until 1A completely threw him off guard, that is ), but he isn’t heartless. He can practically feel Tamaki’s anxiety radiating from where he’s standing. Shaking. & Aizawa sighs.  

        “Relax.” The tone is still there, but it’s softer now. His fingers alternate to scritch the other side of the cat’s face. Ever the man with comforting words. “You’re not going to get in trouble.”

    Where did she go? She couldn’t of gone far at all- This was the 2nd time this month that his cat had decided to run out the moment he had opened the door to his dorm room, and it certainly set off a panic in his mind knowing that maybe if she was found, the poor cat would be removed from school grounds or he would get in trouble for have an unauthorized pet. Either would be a terrible outcome especially considering he’d gone out of his way to have a good record of not causing trouble.

    Tamaki had been chasing down the chunky, black ball of fluff and it was worse enough that it had led into the school hallways. For such a tubby cat, she was still as agile as ever, which made it much more difficult. Who knew one of the big 3 could be outrun by a cat of all things? But finally he seemed to catch a break as the cat was distracted by something, and Tamaki wasted no time in scooping her up so she wouldn’t get away again. But when he finally looked up, a few feet away, he now saw that it was Aizawa that had distracted her. He stared like a deer in headlights for a few moments before speaking up.

      “U-Uhm- I- S-Sorry I was uh- I should go now. Yeah.” Aizawa had already seen too much, this was a nightmare.

        Let it be known to everybody --- Aizawa Shota, with every fiber of his being, loves cats. Would absolutely die for ‘em. He has two of his own at home, not counting the countless strays that sometimes manifest on his porch because they know he will feed them & pet them for however long they want him to. & to be honest, as silly as it sounds, cats are one of the few things ( aside from sleep, of course ) that manage to distract him constantly, without fail. Whenever he sees one ducking into an alleyway on one of his routine night patrols, he loses his train of thought, & it takes a good amount of time before his brain reboots & he remembers: no, Eraser, you aren’t a licensed hero just so you can pet cats all day, do your job. 

        But, to be fair, he never expected to see one lurking in the halls of the school. Needless to say, he is a tiny bit startled by the tubby feline’s presence, & instantly starts trying to piece together where she came from. Normally, he is a very keen & observant person, but apparently not so much when a cat so much as poofed out of thin air. 

        It doesn’t take long, however, for Tamaki to appear & scoop the animal up into his arms. & notice him standing there as well, at that. By the way the other is standing, face paled, he could only imagine what is going through his mind --- but before he could completely flee the scene, Aizawa speaks up. 

        “Wait.”

        ... in case anyone ever thinks about putting the waifu bot on any of your discord servers yeah this is just how it be sometimes 

for some reason, my brain couldn’t stop thinking about how much the usj attack had to have affected eraser, even though he was mummified & teaching the class again in no time as if nothing actually happened. so uh .... here’s some headcanons! remember: i’m anime-only at the moment. my apologies if anything here clashes with the manga - once i catch up, i’ll definitely adjust accordingly. 

Because of the injuries that Eraser suffered, its canon that he is unable to use his quirk for long periods of time. What’s also canon is that he must rest more between usages, & pretty much always carries around his trusty eye drops to use after each use ( the only time he doesn’t have them is when he’s run out & it slipped his mind - he has quite a few bottles stocked up at home so he doesn’t have go purchase them as frequently, but he’s still susceptible to forgetting to replace the one in his utility belt until it’s too late & his eyes are suffering ). 

But what hasn’t been talked about is the other injuries that he suffered - both physical & mental. Its heavily implied that aside from the scar under his right eye, he has a much larger scar that covers the entirety of his injured elbow because of the way that it was crushed & bent ( we don’t actually see his elbow post-bandages in the show, but in official art it’s perfectly fine ? I call shenanigans on that one chief ).  

He also lost a good amount of mobility in that elbow. He can still move it, & it still functions like an elbow should, but it’s a lot harder for him to straighten it out & on some days, its worse than others. Sometimes its actually painful to the point where he needs to take pain meds & other times, if he doesn’t think about it too much, its like a numb sort of feeling. Recovery Girl tried to heal him 100% but considering how much he exerted himself protecting the kids, & the other injuries that she had to attend to, she wasn’t able to. & it sucks, but he’s learned to live with it.

Mentally, he still beats himself up over the attack at times. When he thinks too much. Deep down, he knows that he did what he could & there was a plus side in that none of the kids got seriously harmed by the League, but to him, it wasn’t good enough. Since he was knocked unconscious, had to be saved by All Might & carried away by his own students, he feels as though he didn’t do his job as a pro to the best of his ability. 

Let’s be honest, someone needs to whack him over the head & tell him that he did his best because he fought off dozens of mindless villains for such a long amount of time, got seriously injured to the point where he couldn’t move & still managed to save his student’s life despite how much pain he was in. Like hello???? Eraser???? Stop beating yourself up buddy???? You’re the reason they’re all alive????

        Aizawa’s eyes narrow. Coming from Midoriya, he’s not sure what he’s supposed to expect — it could be anything from another villain attack to more goddamn broken bones, at this point. 

                ( does he even have any more bones to break? … )

        “If you’re about to tell me that you can hardly use your legs now, you’re expelled.”

        It was no secret that Aizawa had come to respect All Might — or, should he say, Toshinori — a hell of a lot more than he ever did since they started working within close proximity of each other. Before, he just … well, sure, he respected him in the way that everyone does the Number One Hero, but there was an edge to it. Respecting him because he had to, not because he saw the living embodiment of media branding as anybody worthy of his respect. However, now … now that the battle with All For One rendered him retired, and it was Toshinori that he was talking to instead of All Might, the Number One Hero, he could honestly say that the edge faded away and all the respect that was left was genuine. 

        And one of the things Aizawa came to notice since that fact was that the older man wasn’t just some jackass who let the public’s love for him get to his head. He was humble, sometimes painfully so, and knew what it was actually like in a hero’s world — he knew the very things that often kept Aizawa awake at night, which sadly the younger generation tended to overlook while enrolling at UA, and wasn’t afraid to discuss them. 

        Even if Aizawa wasn’t much of a conversationalist, he appreciated it. Talking with Toshinori, over grading papers or a cup of coffee in the teacher’s lounge. Despite the fact that things like this came up, it was still … nice. 

        “That’s just the way life is,” he mumbled, his voice lackluster in emotion, while his eyes remained on the ring of cream in his coffee. Most people would think he’s bored, or that he doesn’t care, but truthfully it was just the way that he spoke. “And unfortunately for heroes, it’s just a little bit worse. But it’s the nature of the job.”

        ... sooOooOOoo, i don’t really plan on leaving tomorrow, although i do have work early in the morning & then i might nap or play some games when i get home, so who knows! but anyways, everyone’s been posting their dis.cord & idk if some people prefer plotting over there rather than tumblr im. i figured i ought to share mine too just in case anyone wants to mssg tomorrow while they’re gone or just bc it makes them more comfortable. just lmk who you are when you add me!

        His expression doesn’t shift. He’s still sporting the same ‘judgy little eyes’, as Hizashi calls it. Or, as he calls it — literally just his face. He’s told his friend such before, too, multiple times. But then again, he’s pretty sure that Hizashi does half the things he does in Shota’s presence just to annoy him, anyway, so he’s not too surprised the other continues calling his eyes judgy regardless of what Shota tells him.

                … “Stop doing things that I can judge you for, then.”

        To be fair, Aizawa hadn’t even noticed that he was bleeding. These days — unless an injury was severe enough, something that made him ache with every movement he made, it hardly phased him. Which made for some very .. interesting showers, to say the least. But yeah .. blood? It was like nothing, considering he couldn’t even feel where he was bleeding from in the first place. That’d probably be a good place to start.
