Templo del Dios del Viento - Tulum: Situated on a cliff overlooking the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico stands the Mayan Ruin, Templo del Dios del Viento (Temple of the Wind God). This was one of the more challenging images I have ever taken as I blew out my knee getting down to the base of the cliff to capture this image (knee surgery 9 months later). I did get the shot though.

Gullfoss (Golden Falls): Gullfoss is one of the most spectacular Waterfalls in all of Iceland. It is a massive waterfall which is composed of two distinct steps which fall at 90-degree angles to one another. The upper tier cascades down a 12.5 metres (41 ft) rock staircase that spans nearly 240 metres (800 ft) across. The water then rushes into a narrow throat and plunges down 32 metres (105 ft) into a lower canyon. This image is a little tricky to capture because of the vast amount of mist given off by the falls. Be prepared to get absolutely soaked if you stand here.

Auðnir Farm at Drangafjall Ridge: Nestled in the heart of the North Icelandic country-side at the base of Drangafjall Ridge sits the picturesque and peaceful Auðnir (Audnir) farm. The conical peak of the ridge, called Hraundrangi (The Rockfall Spire), towers 80 metres (260 ft) above the ridge.

White Out: Blueberry Island on frozen Otter Lake in the Algonquin HIghlands (Canada), taken on a cool dense foggy winter's afternoon.

Eastern Gray Timber Wolf: A wider angle view of the Eastern Gray Timber Wolf I came face to face with on the Track and Tower Trail in Algonquin Park. Although I like my other image of the wolf set against a stark snow white background, I think I prefer this image that captures some of the surrounding forest.

Eastern Gray Timber Wolf: First time out with my Camera after my knee surgeries and I decider to stop at the Track and Tower Trail in Algonquin Park. To my shock, just a few metres up the trail I came face to face with this beautiful lone Eastern Gray Timber Wolf. Had the fortunte of getting to spend about 10 minutes with this stunning animal before she wondering off into the forest.

Red Lynx (Bobcat): Captured this image of a beautiful Red Lynx (also known as a Bobcat) looking right at me, during a visit to a local wildlife rescue. I was very fortunate to be able to enter the enclosure to capture this image; however, during my visit this fellow decided to get personal and jumped up on my chest to perch across my head and shoulders.

Seydisfjordur: If you visit only one location in the Eastfjords of Iceland, it should be the picturesque village of Seydisfjordur which surrounds Fjarðará Lagoon. Nestled between the snowcapped mountains and cascading waterfalls from Mt. Bjólfur (1085m) and Strandartindur (1010m), this tranquil little village offers a wonderful atmosphere for explorers to enjoy. While here you should check out Kaffi Lára El Grillo Bar which is located on Regnboga Vegur (Rainbow Road).

Skarðsvík - Sand Patterns: Secluded in the northwestern tip of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland is Skarðsvík beach, with its beautiful turquoise waters and golden brown sand. The waters at Skarðsvík can be very dangerous with a strong surf and undertow, and I was mesmerized by the patterns left in the sand as the surf pulled out.

Reynisfjara Basalt Sea Stacks: Vík í Mýrdal's enormous Basalt Sea Stacks set against the the stunning Reynisfjara Black Volcanic Sand Beach. The columnar basalt is formed when a lava flow cools suddenly and contraction forces build up. Cracks then form horizontally and the extensive fracture network that develops results in the hexagonal formation of columns which are always upright, standing perpendicular to the cooling surface.

Námafjall Pass: One of the most scenic drives in the world, the Ring Road (Route 1) around Iceland. Pictured here is Route 1 through Námafjall Pass near the Mývatn Area in Northern Iceland. This area is world famous for it's Geothermal activity.

Pine Warbler: Captured this little yellow Pine Warbler perched on a tree stump outside of our Lakehouse in the Algonquin Highlands (Ontario, Canada).

Lómagnúpur Mountain: Lómagnúpur is a stunning Icelandic mountain with almost vertical cliffs that reach a height of 671m, the highest in all of Iceland. Lómagnúpur became famous in the Njáll saga, in which Flosi has a nightmare where he had killed Njáll with his men and then dreamt of a giant coming out of the mountain and announcing the death of his people.
