battle lasting hours and hours, he's covered in dirt and grime and blood. he says goodbye to his friends and heads back to tails' lab. collapses in bed without washing his wounds or checking himself over. tails isn't home, he's still on his journey (post-frontiers). he falls asleep for 14+ hours and when he wakes up, hes out of it from blood loss, doesnt think to clean his wounds until its too late. despite eventually showering and wrapping his injuries, a couple get infected, and he ignores it until it leaves him feverish in bed, unable to move without pain. he calls a random contact on his communicator, probably shadow or rouge, and his garbled words leave them concerned and they come to check on him. something something they take him to a hospital and he's treated there, much to his dismay. tails comes back once he finds out and is HORRIFIED because WHAT . sonic oh my god. anyways. might write this.
