Makeko (formerly makeko makeko) is my small jewelry business that was born Dec. 2020 ♥︎

I come from a line of jewelers - my grandpa was a leatherworker and beader, my uncle and cousins are beaders, as well as my mom. This passion has been passed down to me, which led me to work with many different mediums, styles, and aesthetic. I try to incorporate this knowledge in an alt, innovative style of jewelry, hats, and clothing!! ♥︎⋆

I LOVE collecting things like vintage toys and clothes, dolls and anime figures, magazines, books, vintage beads, trinkets, etc. (c:

I try to reflect these interests in my work, in a retrofuturistic twist on nostalgia; using vintage body jewelry, beads, along with surgical stainless steel chains and findings, and unconventional materials, like flowers and trinkets to create jewelry, and upcycling old clothes and hats to create edgy, rhinestoned clothes and accessories ⊹ ࣪ ˖
