Happy new year, everyone! Have a good cycle.
Our office air plant, which the writerās department has been responsible for for one and a half or perhaps two years, is growing a gorgeous pup! Iām so proud that we were able to make it to the second generation! šš

Hey, man, c'mere. Listen. Get in real close, this is important.
You're gonna make stuff again. You're gonna make stuff you're proud of. You're gonna make stuff you're excited to share. You're going to feel that overwhelming drive to create, not just the frantic I want to want to you're stuck in now. You're going to have awesome ideas, and you're going to make them into reality. You're going to create again. You're still an artist. You're still a writer. You're still home to the same passion you had before. You'll find it again. It's not gone. It's just resting. Let it rest. You're going to make stuff again. I promise.
A couple months ago I had a dream about a TAZ au where THB meet for the āfirst timeā as contestants on a Survivor knock-off called Balance, where they become friends with each other by being competitive until camaraderie develops between them, and they slowly regain memories of their shared pasts while the game moves deeper into the treacherous island and the challenges become more and more ACTUALLY dangerous.
The boys endear themselves to their team by playing against their expected stereotypes. Everyone thinks Magnus is going to be a mean, self-centered brute, but he turns out to be gregarious, helpful, and warm-hearted. They think Taako is going to be too prissy to help out around camp, but heās surprisingly well-adapted to rough living conditions and fiercely insists on making sure everyone is fed (although nobody can tell if he really likes them or not). They expect that Merle is going to be an intolerant old guy, but heās accepting of everyone, unbelievably chill, and devastatingly profound when things become overwhelming for their tribe; he becomes a confidant for a lot of their teammates and ends up helping a lot of people pull themselves out of a hopeless place at least once.
The dream eventually moved into a high-tech space adventure (humanityās pilgrimage away from an Earth under attack), but I had to immortalize this first concept somewhere!
PS: You would think Madam Director would, in this situation, play the part of the gameās inscrutable host, but - nope! It was 100% still Jeff Probst. Go figure, huh?
This is kind of goofy so donāt make fun of me for it!
Even before I learned a little bit about the whole psychology thing I habitually thought of myself in, kinda, three parts, like. I donāt feel like my body is who I am, but rather some strange vehicle/social interface that scoots me around this weird 3d space while I watch.Ā I donāt feel like I am my brain, either; that thing is just, like, either a totally detached information center or a malfunctioning circuit.
My actual image of myself is perpetually me at age 15 - probably because thatās when I felt the most real. My hair was super long and I always wore big airy t-shirts and backward hats and jeans that were way too long, so my heels would wear holes into them about three inches away from the hem.Ā I think it was all those tactile things that made me feel present.Ā Incidentally, 15 was the age when my crappy anxiety first came to the fore and had to be acknowledged, so maybe that was also the last time I felt like a single entity, rather than a haphazard construct struggling against itself!
If I had to pick an emotion to pin to these thoughts, Iād pick⦠eh, wistful? Or⦠melancholy?Ā Not bad.Ā A little distant, if anything.
Anyway, I found these sketches from a couple of years ago when I must have been thinking about this stuff, and figured, why the heck not. Letās share it.
Anyway, sorry for being a weirdo!
Was thinking back on this today. Is this some kind of Jungian psychic apparatus or what? Iām in my thirties now and I still feel like Iām in different parts. I do feel now as though the disparate pieces work together more peacefully, with more unity toward a common goal, but you could never mistake one for the others.
Brains are so weird, arenāt they?

hey this is Argent, the writer for Reckless Transfusion, just thanking you for those sketches you made! i found them looking through Ed's tag and they made me really happy :) much love
Oh my gosh, thanks for letting me know! Since thereās a certain level of removal between author and performer (especially just one of potentially many), I wasnāt sure whether theyād be of interest to youā but Iām so, so pleased to know you liked them! Your writing has brought me a lot of inspiration and Iām very grateful to you āŗļøāØ Thanks for your own fantastic work as well!
Astarion failed a perception check pretty hard there, but in his defence, itās been centuries since heās seen his own face

I had the terrible idea of individually exporting every part of SM64 Slider and running them all through an AI Scout TF2 voice.
Ok, that's it *Uncat the cats*
