note: I view Gran and Djeeta like they are depicted in Rising's story: as the same person who went through the exact same travels, but different gender. But they also have a sibling dynamic with each other. I don't mind other people personally shipping the two, it's just to lyk that I'm not writing these blogs with a shipping perspective. but lyria has two hands and should hold theirs btw okokokok ill be shipping her with the danchous ITS A TENT NOT A TRIANGLE

a ton of the guest VAs at the con voiced in Granblue which is crazy. This isn't like Anime Expo or a really big con where they'll have a lot of guests. There were 6 throughout the entire weekend, and out of the 6 VA guests, there was Kyle McCarley (Gran), Kira Buckland (Lyria), Alejandro Saab (Seofon) and Howard Wang (Sandalphon).

I also went to Kyle and Kira's Nier Automata panel and they mentioned Granblue in the middle of it. Someone asked a question about fighting games and Soul Caliber (since 2B was a guest fighter and Kira was already a character in the game). Kira said that fighting games usually try their best to avoid having two characters with the same actor, but since 2B was a guest, there wasn't much of a choice. That's when Kyle went something like "it's kind of the same with Granblue Fantasy Versus. If any of you guys don't know, Kira plays Lyria in Granblue, and 2B arrived as a guest character. But, she's lucky 2B and Lyria have very different voice areas. If it was 9S instead, I'd really be screwed since Gran and 9S are so vocally similar and also with already pre-established voices..!"

I actually went to go get Kyle McCarley's signature too but for my own print I drew for another franchise he's in. He doesn't have a dedicated commissioned Gran print so I couldn't get anything Granblue from him (I planned to draw a Gran before the con but my semester was hell so I had to choose between drawing Gran and basically the franchise that means the most to me and you can tell what won out since theres no Gran print pic).

Although, I brought my Gran plush just to show him. They told me he has an area of his home where its plushies of characters he voices, and he was super surprised when I showed the plush and said "I've never seen this plush before..! It's so cute. I think I need one" GSJDHWJFSJDHSJ

Also, if you don't know, Howard Wang is a Sandalphon fan himself. Before he got the role he's owned the Sandalphon nendoroid (proof is in his twitter somewhere). When I asked for the Sandy print he said "thanks so much for the Sandy love!!!" I'm kind of an anxious-filled person but he was bringing up his own Granblue talking points which I appreciated and also it really shows he's a fan hsjdgsfhgajdsn

I told him the quote I was making him write on the print is the enter line for when you play the Sandalphon card in Shadowverse. Sandalphon's card is a card that is best played in end-game and hearing "You can't kill hope" usually guarantees you win if you played well.

Anyways, Howard Wang mentioned Endless Ragnarok to me (he asked if I played it which I said yes but also "I didn't unlock Sandalphon though... i ran out of psn 💀") and said he thought it was super funny Sandalphon is right beside Gran in the official art despite having a very minimal role in story. We agreed he was basically just there so people would buy the game since he's the most popular 😭😭 like fish bait
