History and Purpose of Wahnmache/ MahnWache: ————————————————————————

Founded around 1991 by Gerhard Martin (Guitar & Keyboard & Drums) & Daniel Robert Oelbauer (Drums & Violin) as „TOLLHAUS“ (T.od O.hne L.angfristig L.ebenswerte H.offnung A.ll U.nseres S.eins ), while studying in the Gymnasium Sonthofen. Our first and only public Concert (Winter 1994) took place WITHOUT us, since we were NOT informed about it right in time. As NOBODY could be found for playing the bass, the „Band“ never grew to bigger extent than 3 men (additional Guitar-Player Andreas Reck joined in late 1993). And 1994 had been the year of the tacit disbandment, too. The project just diverged without comment. Some „easy & silly listening“-Folk-Rock-Band took the name TOLLHAUS for their Band…and I named my solo-project „WahnMache / MahnWache“ as an equivocation to the German word for a „political or admonishing vigil“ and the „making of madness“. It now is a solo-project, but it does not necessarily NEED to stay one, right ? ;-) Please help to develop these recordings into full wholesome songs with any instrument that would help to complement the expression of it. Strongly demanded would be Drums and Bass …but any other instrument is wellcome, too, as far as it can be useful to transport the emotional message of this music MORE, or in a new and interesting way. But the main Prerequisite is, that the Music of Wahnmache/Mahnwache strictly remains NONcommercial ! Or else it would lose its Vividness, deep Expresiveness, Meaning & Message ! Please, let me know, WHAT your interpretation and supplement of my music will sound like. OK ?

Werdegang & Absicht von Wahnmache/ MahnWache: —————————————————————————

Gegründet um etwa 1991 herum, von Gerhard Martin ( Gitarren & Keyboard & Schlagzeug) & Daniel Robert Oelbauer ( Schlagzeug & Violine/Geige), als "TOLLHAUS" (T.od O.hne L.angfristig L.ebenswerte H.offnung A.ll U.nseres S.eins ), während der Schulzeit am Gynmasium Sonthofen.

Unser erstes und einziges öffentliches Konzert (Winter 1994) fand OHNE uns statt, da wir NICHT rechtzeitig darüber informiert wurden.

Weil NIEMAND als Bass-Spieler gefunden werden konnte, wuchs die "Band" nie größer heran, als 3 Männer ( der zusätzliche Neueinsteiger-Gitarrist Andreas Reck kam später im Jahr 1993 mit hinzu).

Und 1994 war auch das Jahr der stillschweigenden Auflösung. Das Projekt verlief sich ohne ausdrücklichen Schlußpunkt.

Eine alberne "Easy-Listening-FOLK-ROCK-Gruppe" trat mit unserem Bandnamen "TOLLHAUS" öffentlich in Erscheinung…. und ich taufte mein (jetzt) Solo-Projekt "Wahnmache/Mahnwache". Es ist nunmehr ein Einzel-Projekt , aber es braucht ja nicht notwendigerweise eines zu bleiben, oder ? ;-)

Bitte hilf, diese Aufnahmen zu ganzen, kompletten (instrumentalen) Musikstücken weiterzuentwickeln, mit jedwedem Instrument, welches die Ausdrucksfähigkeit ergänzen oder sogar erweitern helfen könnte. Besonders gefragt wären Schlagzeug und Bass … aber auch jedes andere Instrument ist willkommen, solange es die emotional-gedankliche Botschaft dieser Musik vermitteln kann, oder in einer neuen , interessanten Art & Weise bereichern kann. Grundlegende Bedingung dabei ist allerdings, daß die Musik von Wahnmache/Mahnwache strikt UNkommerziell bleibt ! Andernfalls würde sie ihre Lebendigkeit, tiefe Ausdrucksstärke, Bedeutung & Botschaft verlieren !

Wahnmache/Mahnwache( auch: “Mahnwache/Wahnmache” ) ist ein offenes, nichtkommerzielles und auch ansonsten eher ungewöhnliches Musikprojekt von Gerhard Martin, aus Sonthofen, der südlichsten Stadt Deutschlands.

Stilistisch bewegt sich Wahnmache/Mahnwache hauptsächlich im Metal-Bereich, ist aber grundsätzlich für jede ernsthafte Musikrichtung offen und läßt Einflüsse auch aus z.B. dem Barock zu, dem Industrial, dem Hardcore-Punk, Balladen und Halbballaden, oder aber auch aus der Meditations- & Entspannungsmusik.

1. GESCHICHTE:

Werdegang & Absicht von Wahnmache/ MahnWache: ———————————————————————————

Gegründet um den Sommer 1991 herum, von Gerhard Martin ( E-Gitarre & Akustik-Gitarre & Keyboard & Schlagzeug & E-Bass ) zusammen mit Schulkamerad Dr. Daniel Robert Oelbauer ( Schlagzeug & Violine/Geige) alias “Dan Robertson” , als “TOLLHAUS” ( was als Abkürzung für: “T.od O.hne L.angfristig L.ebenswerte H.offnung A.ll U.nseres S.eins” gemeint ist ), während der Schulzeit am Gynmasium Sonthofen. Bereits dieses Anfangsprojekt fiel durch Ungewöhnlichkeiten auf. Stilistisch wurde alles zugelassen, sogar humorvolle Musik, wie etwa inspiriert durch Fun-Punk-Band “the Toy-Dolls”. Gerhard Martin bezeichnete sich selbst auch als “Tragicomix”, um diesen Zwiespalt von heiter & ernst zu beschreiben.

Das erste und einzige (geplante) öffentliche Konzert (im Winter 1994) fand tatsächlich OHNE die Band statt, da sie NICHT rechtzeitig darüber informiert worden waren. Gründer Gerhard Martin las das Plakat mit dem darauf prangenden Bandnamen erst am Tag des Konzertes, rein zufällig im Jugendhaus. So kam es niemals zu wirklichen öffentlichen Auftritten.

Weil auch NIEMAND als Bass-Spieler gefunden werden konnte, wuchs die “Band” nie größer heran, als 3 Musiker ( der zusätzliche Neueinsteiger-Gitarrist Andreas Reck (ebenfalls vom Gymnasium Sonthofen) kam später im Jahr 1993 mit hinzu).

Und 1994 war auch das Jahr der stillschweigenden Auflösung. Das Projekt verlief sich ohne ausdrücklichen Schlußpunkt.

Eine "Party-Musik-& Bierzelt-FOLK-ROCK-Gruppe" trat später mit dem Bandnamen “TOLLHAUS” öffentlich in Erscheinung…. und Gerhard Martin taufte sein (von da an) Solo-Projekt in: "Wahnmache/Mahnwache“ um. (Auch als: ”Mahnwache/Wahnmache“ geschrieben.) Es ist nunmehr ein Einzel-Projekt , aber es braucht nach Vorstellung des Gründers nicht notwendigerweise eines zu bleiben.

Gerhard Martin formuliert den Zweck-Gedanken und die musikalische Absicht des Projektes folgendermnaßen: "Bitte hilf, diese Aufnahmen zu ganzen, kompletten (instrumentalen) Musikstücken weiterzuentwickeln, mit jedwedem Instrument, welches die Ausdrucksfähigkeit ergänzen oder sogar erweitern helfen könnte. Besonders gefragt wären Schlagzeug und Bass … aber auch jedes andere Instrument ist willkommen, solange es die emotional-gedankliche Botschaft dieser Musik vermitteln kann, oder in einer neuen , interessanten Art & Weise bereichern kann. Grundlegende Bedingung dabei ist allerdings, daß die Musik von Wahnmache/Mahnwache strikt UNkommerziell bleibt ! Andernfalls würde sie ihre Lebendigkeit, tiefe Ausdrucksstärke, Bedeutung & Botschaft verlieren !

Bitte laßt mich wissen, WIE Eure Interpretation und Erweiterung meiner Musik-Aufnahmen sich anhören würden. OK ? ”

Gerhard “Gerre” Martin

Im Frühjahr 2014 klappte eine erste solche musikalische Zusammenarbeit: Der Franko-Kanadier Joe Paul François Dubé (kurz: Frank Dubé) aus Québec erweiterte 13 Wahnmache-Mahnwache-Stücke um zusätzliche Gitarrenspuren, E-Bass und Schlagzeug. Die so aufgewerteten 13 Stücke wurden weltweit im Internet veröffentlicht. Zum Schluß allerdings dann leider doch kommerziell bei Frank Dubé´s Musikverlag “El Cheapo-Recordz” , was eben rein garnicht im Sinne Gerhard Martins verlief. Die Anmaßung Frank Dubés am "Copyright" von 13 Wahnmache/Mahnwache-Stücke ist eine haltlose, widersinnige Usurpation OHNE jede Grundlage oder Berechtigung. ALLE ca. 100 Lieder sind VÖLLIG FREI erhältlich und sie dürfen selbstverständlich straffrei weiterkopiert und -im Sinne des wahren Urhebers, Gerhard Martin- auch unkommerziell weiterentwickelt werden.

Eine weitere, gelungene & erbauliche Musik-Erweiterung gelang mithilfe der Unterstützung des Künstlers “Is-qui”, bürgerlich: Michael Maihöfer , aus Berlin.

WEITERE Projekte von Gründungsmitglied Gerhard Martin:

Bandgründer Gerhard Martin war von 1992 bis 1993 als Aushilfs-Schlagzeuger bei “Monkey Business” , einer melodiösen Hardcore-Punk-Band aus Sonthofen tätig. In den sogenannten “Falkenlager-Jam-Sessions” entstanden einige analoge Kassetten-Aufnahmen.

Seit 1999 trieb Gerhard Martin auch ein Metal-Parodie-Projekt namens “Neg-Narz (Negativer Narzissmus)” voran. Auch dieses Projekt ist UNkommerziell. Als Beweggrund nennt er die Frustration, Verdrossenheit und sogar depressive Leere, die er über den allgemeinen Niedergang in der Metal-Musik zu Beginn der Computereinführung im Zuge der digitalen Aufnahmetechnik ab Mitte der 1990er Jahre erfahren mußte. Damals brach der Rockmusik-Markt weitestgehend zusammen.

Kommerzieller Erfolg von in dieser Zeit auftauchenden Bläck-Metal-Bands, sowie der neu aufkommende “Nu-Metal” von Bands wie KoRn oder Limp Bizkit waren Gerhard Martin ein solches Ärgernis, daß er beschloß, aufzudecken, mit wie WENIG musikalischem Anspruch man offensichtlich zu dieser Zeit erheblich viel Geld machen konnte. Zudem wollte er klarstellen, daß die kommerziellen Bands sich über Luxusprobleme & Wohlstandsschwierigkeiten auslassen, während ARME Bands mit echten, tatsächlichen Armutsproblemen, schon garnicht erst gehört werden (können).

Zuerst erschien im Jahr 2000 eine CD, die mit KoRn und Limp Bizkit abrechnet. Unter dem Unter-Namen “ZoRn” veröffentlichte Gerhard Martin das Album: “zu allem Überfluß (Das Überleben im Wohlstand)” mit 11 Titeln. Im Gegensatz zu Wahnmache/Mahnwache bedient sich das Projekt “Neg-Narz” ganz gezielt der Lyrik, es gibt also Texte dazu. Als “Mikrophon-Anschreier” konnte Gerhard Martin seinen Bruder Norbert Martin gewinnen. Zusätzliche E-Bass-Spuren spielte Josef “Josy” Klaiber ein, der auf eher mysteriöse Weise einige Jahre später in China verstarb.

Das 2. Album “TOD FÜR DIE WELT ! (Den Mächten des BLÖDEN muß INhalt geboten werden.)” ist ein Rundumschlag gegen ALLE Stilrichtungen des Metals, und seinen albernen Auswüchsen.

Als ausdrücklichste musikalische Absichten nennt Gründer Gerhard Martin: hohe Ansprüche, emotional-gedankliche Ausdrucksfähigkeit, sowie stilistische Vielfalt (von ihm selbst als: “Stil-Falt” oder "Stil-Fältigkeit" bezeichnet) & weitestgehende Freiheit , diese Stile miteinander zu vermischen. Dabei sieht Gerhard Martin die größtmögliche Ausdrucksmöglichkeit in INSTRUMENTALER Musik, also frei von zumindest festgelegter Sprache. Die Stimme als eine Art von “Musikinstrument” schließt er dabei nicht grundsätzlich aus ; nur das Festlegen durch fixe Sprache. Um also selbst bei den Musik-TITELN der einzelnen Stücke möglichst ausdrucksstarke Wirkung zu erzielen, setzt Gerhard Martin auf “Wortneuschöpfungen, um Mehrdeutigkeiten und Botschaften ZWISCHEN den Zeilen” zu erreichen. Selbst für den Bandnamen gilt dies ja offensichtlich. Ausser gelegentlichen Ausflügen in die “Programmusik” (z.B.: “endlich allein (mit der Welt)”) vertritt Wahnmache/Mahnwache hauptsächlich “Absolute-Musik”-Vorstellungen.

Der Anspruch an musikalische Fertigkeiten ist für Wahnmache/Mahnwache grundsätzlich sehr hoch angesetzt, auch wenn Gründer Gerhard Martin beteuert, daß er selbst diesen Ansprüchen nur teilweise gerecht würde. (Vor allem Gitarren-SOLOS würde er gerne besser beherrschen, als es der Fall ist. )

Eine Besonderheit am Projekt Wahnmache-Mahnwache ist auch, daß die komponierten Musikstücke grundsätzlich als in “noch offener Bearbeitung” angesehen werden. Das gilt sowohl für die einzelnen Kompositionen, als auch für ganze Alben. Jedes Album enstand daher auch frei & zeitgleich neben anderen Alben her.

Werdegang & Absicht von Wahnmache/ MahnWache: —————————————————————————

Unser erstes und einziges öffentliches Konzert (Winter 1994) fand OHNE uns statt, da wir NICHT rechtzeitig darüber informiert wurden.

Weil NIEMAND als Bass-Spieler gefunden werden konnte, wuchs die "Band" nie größer heran, als 3 Männer ( der zusätzliche Neueinsteiger-Gitarrist Andreas Reck kam später im Jahr 1993 mit hinzu).

Und 1994 war auch das Jahr der stillschweigenden Auflösung. Das Projekt verlief sich ohne ausdrücklichen Schlußpunkt.

Bitte laßt mich wissen, WIE Eure Interpretation und Erweiterung meiner Musik-Aufnahmen sich anhören würden. OK ?
