As much as I fear that the whole "Caine's favorite thing in the whole world is bees" is an extension of the Age Old fandom tendency to see a character drinking orange juice and decide that they're obsessed with orange juice, there is merit to it.
Adventures are a way of self expression for Caine- it's his art form! But it's also an obligation he feels like he must do, because it's what he's supposed to do. He pours a lot of effort into them, yes, but it's still work. He's proud of them and he sees the human's enjoyment of them as a direct correlation to his self worth.
Off the top, there are only two things we ever see that are very personally Caine's and not just a mechanism in some larger scheme; Caine's Sketchbook and his Office.
His office was used as a set in an adventure, yes, but I doubt that Caine genuinely had NO space for himself for all of twenty years. If it was just for that adventure, why does he keep it around? Why did he stay there to have a moment of introspection and vulnerability? Why does he have puzzles and toys on his desk? He literally plays with them, too. He keeps a whole slew of adventures on display in there. Not all of them at once, because they would NOT fit in there, but he DOES keep SOME around. It can't be random, because it doesn't change between episodes. (I checked!) This is a personal location for Caine and he allowed the humans access into it for the Escape the Circus adventure, which is just one of many reasons why that adventure was incredibly personal for him as well. But thats not the point.
The only time we see Caine fully indulge in something in the comfort of his own space without the expectations of it being seen or serving a purpose is when he draws. In the image above, his sketchbook is seen. What has he drawn? A bee. When he does impromptu therapy with Zooble, what doodle does he show them? A bee. When he's in the corporate office for the Spudsy's adventure, what was he doodling all over random pages on the desk? Bees. What does he grade everyone (except kinger who wasnt there?) B+.
In episode 5, he's looking over his notes and he flips through his sketchbook. What was he drawing? Bees. What filled the other pages? Also bees. He drew himself as a bee!!! The first page in the book, the one he was writing notes on, isn't shown when he flips through the pages because he already flipped it before that shot began. We do see that he was actually writing, just not what exactly he write, in a following shot where he's flipping the whole book around. He genuinely uses the sketchbook to take notes! It's not a component for a bit or a visual gag, it's his.
The only thing that we see Caine consistently engage with throughout the whole series and in private for no one's enjoyment but his own is fucking BEES. I don't know why he loves bees- I assume it came from some kind of joke involved the name of C&A. What goes between C and A? B. Bees. I doubt that's the incharacter reason for it, but it's most likely some kind of joke born during the writing or storyboarding process.
Regardless. He loves bees.
