Dabi goes mia for a whole week straight and Hawks just doesn't understand why he's gone, until he's had enough and finally breaks into his room at the PLF manor. At a glance the room is empty, but sure enough, his feathers find Dabi under the bed... playing Tomodachi life.
Dabi looks simultaneously so invested and like he hasn't slept or seen the sun in a week.
Turns out Dabi's been too busy glued to his switch, building the life of his Miis.
He doesn't even know how to address why Dabi's under the bed, almost concerned, except when he peers at the hand held console, he sees silly characters of the game dubbed Dabi and Hawks interacting.
Hawks opens his mouth, "Is that us?"
Outwardly? Dabi doesn't look sick. Unhinged, maybe.
Almost incredulous, Hawks asks too, "Has this been what you've been up to all week?"
He doesn't know what he's looking at.
Dabi doesn't even bother looking up and Hawks would be offended at the treatment all week when he hasn't done anything, except it's the response he gets that all the more offensive.
"Yes it's you," Dabi says offhandedly. "If you would just get your head in the game and stop crushing on the whole damn island but me. Stop trying to move in with other men."
A brow raises into his hairline before Hawks frowns and sputters, "What do you mean I'm crushing on everyone but you?!"
"Well look," Dabi points. "You're talking to me and still thinking about that old man assassin down by the docks. Those are our docks!"
Hawks has never played a game in his life, but his body moves faster than the thought as he huffs, "Let me see!"
Dabi shifts over to make space for Hawks, who sheds half his wing span to crawl under the bed. He squishes his body up next to Dabi's hand, reaching out for the other end of the screen.
At the corner of the screen, Dabi mii is crushing on Hawks and going on passionately, while Hawks mii isn't even think about Dabi...
"It's you and your poor taste birdie. Letting fucking homewreckers into our life."
"No, that's character slander."
Dabi snickers as Hawks demands, "Now show me how to play."
... Pro-hero Hawks goes missing for an entire week, only to resurface on a local news channel who asks, "Has fighting crime and villains taken a toll on our Number Three hero all week?"
Hawks looks into the camera, dead eyed with darker circles under his eyes than he has ever publically been seen with and only one sentence. "Tomodachi life is the real villain out there."
