went to new zealand for a month at the end of january with my family and my partner, and honestly considering a third world war is breaking out, geographically speaking I think we'd all rather still be there

things got really busy with work and family in town this past week and I hadnt see my boyfriend for like 8 days. When we hung out last night and started snuggling, the first thing we both said was "I've really missed you" and like, not that I regret having been the relationship before my current one by any means, there was a lot of love there and I cherish that time, but I'm starting realize in hindsight that years of only getting to physically be with my partner a couple times a year (if that) on account of us living across the continent and in another country may have actually been making me very profoundly sad

one really funny thing thing about dating someone you've overlapped social and work circles with for years is that you may think you've been keeping things relatively low key, not out of any intentionality but because you both just like being low key, but in reality you have been a subject of the Hot Small Town Gossip™️ for months

in other life updates, the distance in my relationship prompted an opening up last year, then a while back I really stacked it on my "don't fuck your coworkers" rule and wound up dating a dude i've tried to set 3 friends up with in the past

i've not posted here in ages but as far as life updates go, proud to say I almost got written up at work for not being able to stop myself from saying "UGH, FUCKIN GROSS" very loudly when I was bartending and overheard a guest call themselves a zionist
