„Your face is burning, Levi.“

„It’s nothing.“ He replies and continues on the work that has been haunting them for a while now. In fact Levi doesn’t feel all that well. Hasn’t for the past hours already, but he can’t imagine to leave Erwin alone with all this work. This man deserved a break more than him.

Levi tries to focus but all that he manages to write down are a few scrawly words before he buries his face in his hands. He sighs softly enough to think Erwin can’t hear it.

“Levi, go lie down on my couch.”

“No, I’m fine.”

“That’s an order.”

A little indignant about this, Levi gets up and sits down on the man’s couch. He still doesn’t think it’s necessary to stir all this ruckus around a little bit of fever. It’ll go away in no time, anyway. “This is unnecessary.” He complains, but lets his head fall against the back.

Erwin doesn’t say anything. He simply gets up and vanishes for a bit, before he comes back with a blanket and a bowl filled with a steaming liquid. “You have to eat something.” He takes his chair and positions it right in front of Levi who raises an eyebrow.

“Are you seriously going to feed me like a little brat?”

“To each their own.” Erwin says but then sighs. “Please?”

With a shrug Levi opens his mouth and allows the other to feed him. It’s chicken soup, still warm and leaving a trail down his throat. It actually feels good to be taken care of once in a while. Once they finish Erwin pushes him down and places a soft kiss onto Levi’s forehead.

He listened attentively, biting back his own comments. He had to trust Levi. Mike wished he didn’t, but he knew Levi must’ve been acting this way for some reason. 

“Maybe… maybe you should call the hospital.” Mike said under his breath. “I won’t if you don’t want me to though.” He wanted to be more abrasive, but he felt his own thoughts being resisted. How could he tell his apartment owner what to do? Mike didn’t want it to affect him negatively.

“Pathetic, hm?” A strangled laughter left his lips and he raised his upper body slowly, a bubble of french curses leaving him. “I cannot even stand up... shit.” He breathed out and was suddenly very tired. “I don’t want to bother you. Can you... make coffee? And get that emergency kit from the bathroom...” It felt awfull to drag Mike into this but there was no once else he could ask and not even someone he could call.
