for the first half of this year, i had a blog with 700-800 followers that primarily discussed and posted screenshots of vile posts from trans-identified males on this site. that blog only came about because i randomly stumbled upon a hot discourse topic and couldn’t really believe more people weren’t seeing it for what it was. i deleted that blog at 3am in may without telling anyone. this blog exists because of that experience.
i am not on board with the idea that transness is a reason to harass people. i have trans-identified people in my life that i care about. my problem is primarily with the way i have seen TIMs treat females. to me, it seems that they are often incredibly misogynistic yet determined to be the most oppressed group on the planet. i do not think every TIM is like this. i know several that are normal people. i think the freakazoids on this website are primarily from places like reddit and 4chan, but i wish more would acknowledge this problem in their community.
i do not like the constant denial that TIMs, at the very least, experienced male socialization and privilege pre-transition/pre-coming out. it allows the insanely misogynistic TIMs on this site to avoid taking responsibility for their behavior. there is also a refusal to even recognize that girls experience misogyny from the moment they're born, which i believe is unacceptable. these are not the only issues i have with transfeminism/the trans community's general beliefs.
i saw a lot of depravity on that side of tumblr. i posted about it frequently. the community of TIMs on tumblr specifically has a massive problem with sexualizing incest and pedophilia. they push everyone to stick with every TIM and support them endlessly, no matter what they may have or have certainly done. i was repeatedly harassed for standing up against misogyny, racism, and pedophilia. i saw many others receive abuse because of their sex.
i guess you could say i’m peaking. i know now that sex-based oppression is real and is used against so-called “tmes” by “tmas” in a classically misogynistic way, even though transfeminists deny the existence of sex-based oppression. with my feminism at this point, i am prioritizing females. i am not concerned with actively advocating against trans rights. i’m just not really making it my business anymore.
i do not fully endorse every post i reblog. usually, i am taking pieces from what i interact with. some posts get too mean for my liking, even if i agree with other parts of them.
