the secret cheat code for women is realizing you dont have to date men
this doesnt just go for lesbians it goes for bi women and straight women too. i cant even count how many times straight women have told me “i wish i was a lesbian so i didnt have to date men” but guess what … u Dont have to date men
to be clear this also isnt necessarily saying ‘go date women instead!!’ its just saying…. u dont have to date men. u dont have to be dating women in order to not date men! in fact if ur not attracted to women at all please dont date women just as a substitute for men. but if dating men isnt making u happy… u dont have to do that. u dont have to make a space in ur life for men
im singlehandedly destroying every mans mental health by telling women its ok to not date them

like girl this is an INSANE approach ;sdlkfjsldkfjsldkfjsdflkjs. while i appreciate the #mood and #vibe of cornering hs sophomore clark in the caves to drop some cunty vague threats and then leave i do feel like this approach is working a little counter to his goals of 'clark kent opens up to me <3 yay <3'. like this is very fun for me but maybe i think not so ideal for lex himself, you know?

The thing that is so frustrating to me about so many decisions in TVL compared to IwtV, is that I don't even get rewarded for asking "why?"
Claudia murders a bunch of people and hides their bodies out in the swamps. Why? Well, because she didn't think the storm would sweep them out, and she was killing more than they could burn, AND she was keeping it a secret from Louis and Lestat. The narrative doesn't have to feed you that answer through dialogue, but gets you there through story-telling. This can support YOUR interpretation.
Lestat signs a contract in blood in 3x01 to cover the tracks of a "murder gone wrong" and financially support a widow from the state of Oregon. Why? ...yeah, so we have no clue. Is this just to show Lestat is out of control and messy? Is that plot important? It isn't ever brought up again, so it just feels like a meaningless detail, despite taking up like 3 minutes of dialogue, and screentime. Why?
Which is why I stopped writing meta about this season, and probably will continue not to. There isn't a reward for asking "why" because the show is absurdism, but also empty of meaning. "loneliness" "failure" "patriarchy" okay. Okay I get it. But there's NOTHING else, and that's why it sucks to analyze, and why I keep bashing the writing. I can't even ask "why" and get a creative answer from the text, because it doesn't care about the things it gives us either.
"whats your 5 year plan?" buddy I nearly go insane thinking about what I should have for dinner
i'm so so sorry armand rolin jones does not know the size of your soul

i really im absolutely astounded at the phenomenal job that MIB did not to be racist against aliens, despite being a movie about secret agents chasing evil aliens. that scene where jay helps an alien mother to give birth is probably one of the most humanizing moments for an Other ive seen in a movie ever.
like it grabs the body snatcher trope from the cold war "aliens are all around you, hidden in diguzise, they could be any one of us!" and then it says "and theyre just people, theyre literally just people trying to live their lives and thats fine"
you literally have a whooe scene where a cop stands out because he says "i dont care how menacibg or threatning someone looks im not going to shoot them if there is a reasonable explination for what theyre doing, one is sneezing and one is just doing excercise", and that is the guy that gets aproved to join MIB.
The movie has a real love for NYC and immigrant culture as a part of that. The opening scene where K welcomes the undocumented immigrants to the United States. One alien greets another and says he's ordered him pierogi. A lot of them are refugees from their home worlds who just want to survive.
