We decided to bring attention to dangerous hole in Rybalskyi bridge construction in Kyiv, Ukraine, which is still not protected properly. We used bright primary colours to make it visible during Sunday workshop May 2018

Concept design project of 'Radiorynok' technological market, located in Kyiv, Ukraine 2018

It was my first impression of Radiorynok, based in Kyiv, Ukraine. I didn't see it for more than 10 years. It is a historical technology marketplace, that is famous because of it's illegal tradings of stolen mobile phones and other technological stuff. I checked this place in December 2017, because I finally accepted Станислав Август's, a member of Democratic Alliance, idea to design an alternative building for the market and to think what to do with the transport there. I was shocked to see that Radiorynok's trading spaces are already on pedestrian ways and at the building sites that belong to the city, not to the market owner. The idea is ambitious, but it worth trying, because people are used just to ignore the problem and close their eyes on the horrible state of the market.

Досі знаходжуся під враженням від міжнародної конференції "Модерністки. Насильство у архітектурі та міському просторі", що відбулася у вересні 2017 року у Державній науковій архітектурно-будівельній бібліотеці ім. В. Г. Заболотного. Величезне спасибі організаторам, а саме Dmytro Sysoiev та Jenia Gubkina від Urban Forms Center та Iuliia Popova від Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Ukraine, що вже другий рік влаштовують таку важливу платформу для обміну знаннями, думками та методами щодо того як визначати та реагувати на дискримінацію та насильство щодо жінок та всіх інших груп населення в архітектурному та міському середовищі. Дуже вдячна, що мала можливість виступити з надзвичайно актуальною та важливою темою зараз, а саме розповісти про методи протидії насильству з боку забудовників на прикладі активістської діяльності, що розгорнулася проти скандального будівництва комплексу Ярославів Град, проект якого створило  Архитектурное бюро Юрия Бородкина, на місці зруйнованого старого Сінного Ринку (Сінний монстр Київміськбуда) по вул. Бульварно-Кудрявській, 15. Дуже вдячна одній з ключових активісток та організаторок цього руху, а саме Юлия Никитина, за те що Ви поділилися зі мною своїми методами та стратегією громадянського протесту. Ви мене надихаєте, чим більше буде таких осмислених, креативних та дієвих осіб як Ви, в тим красивішому і здоровішому місті ми будемо жити.

Дуже рада, що мені вдалося прийняти участь  у форумі Ukraine Lab 19-22 вересня 2017 року в Івано-Франківську, де ми виступили разом з Katya Yakovets на заводі Промприлад з презентацією урбаністичних проектів, над якими працювали разом з командою Будуємо Україну Разом у різних містах. До того моменту наші з Катею шляхи не перетиналися, тому рада була врешті зустрітися та обмінятися досвідом. Ми звернули увагу на те як дружньо та позитивно місцеві сприймають створення або реновацію публічних просторів, незалежно від того чи то є кінотеатр під відкритим небом у Бердянську, чи різноплановий та багатофункціональний дитячий майданчик у Подільську. Перед початком та в процесі проектування дуже важливим є спілкування та співпраця з людьми, які пізніше наповнюватимуть цей простір життям. Наш успішний досвід це тільки підтверджує. Дякую, Катя, що підтримала мою ідею з презентацією, дуже цікаво було почути твій досвід роботи з людьми та поділитися своїм. Це був справжній заряд позитиву! :) Окреме спасибі Yuriy Didula за допомогу в організації, підтримку та фото!

Another photos from Mukacheve: the Hungarian artist's, Feszty Árpád, 360 degrees panorama painting memorial. This is how our urban renovations look like in winter time. Bench lines delicately outline the memorial hill and the platform without hiding the memorial itself. Really recommend to check the place when you'll be in Mukacheve!

Mukacheve trip with Building Ukraine Together team, September 2017. First glance at Sorocha mountain, the majestic view from it and the UFO-like memorial devoted to Hungarian artist Feszty Árpád 360 degrees panorama painting. I chose this spot for my project, because it's extremely picturesque. Mukacheve artists suggested it to be found and checked and I agreed. We discovered, that there is nowhere to sit there, that previously installed benches were stollen, so I proposed few different furniture variations for the memorial space, as well as the arrows, showing the way to the top of the mountain. The lightest and the most transparent bench option was chosen and installed with the help of Building Ukraine Together volunteers team.
